Earth-Angel
Angel, I know that but look what some of these others are saying. I think you've stirred up some guilty feelings amongst them. What were they doing behind the bicycle sheds You might have to start a "Dear Angel" thread so they can share their experiences with you. rtstuff
Great job Darryl! Here are my two. 1. Summer In the City. Lovin Spoonful. This one came out in the summer of 1966. Man I remember it well. It was a carefree summer. I don't know if Old Joe will remember the table top baseball game called Strato-Matic or not, but I can remember playing Strato-Matic baseball and listening to those hot opening cords to the Spoonful. "Hot time summer in the city back of my neck gettin hot and gritty." Man youth what a wonderful thing. Where has it gone OLD 55? 2. My number two song is probably my favorite of all of Elvis' hits. "Kentucky Rain". That is such a relaxing song. I can just picture the lyrics in my mind. "Search'n for you in the cold Kentucky rain". rtstuff "Chicks dig me. I rarely wear underwear". Bill Muarry Stripes.
rtstuff
Forgive me Uncle Joe. I meant Uncle joe and not Old Joe in my last post. I was thinking of a gentleman that use to come to the local "Y" that I knew. rtstuff
OLD 55
Man youth what a wonderful thing. Where has it gone OLD 55? You're only 56 rt Val and I have been asked to be Godparents by our niece and her husband. I said "Great, they can wheel me in to his 21st Birthday Party if I'm still around." I'll be finding a place in my Top Ten for both of your nominations. I think Kentucky Rain is one of Elvis' most underrated songs.
rtstuff
Hang in there OLD 55 I hear Aussies live to a very ripe old age. It must be that clean salt air and all of that good sea food, not to mention all of those nice sites at the local beaches if you know what I mean. Shawna
"We need to get a bigger boat" Roy Schneider In JAWS I heard an interview with Stephen Spielberg once where he said this was an ad lib. It was not in the script. But he liked it so well he kept it. Amazing how actors can come up with stuff like this and it stays in the minds more so than scripted stuff sometimes. OLD 55
Well we have 30 + nominations already ! Maybe we should reconsider bluesboy's suggestion of a "5 day cycle" rather than weekly ? (6 per month). That would mean we re-date the current Top Ten #6 to the 30th of April, and publish our next one for the period ending 5th May (then 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th May). Let's see how we go with getting more nominations overnight and if people are then around to vote. I don't want to push people into deadlines, but it does seem to me that we enjoy doing them regularly. I don't want to drive our Archivist crazy either ! A few of our regulars seem to be missing. Hope Peaches and levis are O.K. ? HERE'S THE CURRENT NOMINATIONS TO DATE Air That I Breathe, The - The Hollies Bad, Bad Leroy Brown - Jim Croce Chain, The - Fleetwood Mac Crazy On You - Heart Dance To The Music ~ Sly and the Family Stone Dance With Me - Orleans Day Tripper - The Beatles Don't Let Go - Roy Hamilton Draggin' The Line - Tommy James Fell On Black Days - Soundgarden Funk #49 - The James Gang Green River - Creedence Clearwater Revival Have You Ever Seen The Rain - Creedence Clearwater Revival Heatwave - Linda Ronstadt I'd Love To Change The World - Ten Years After I'd Love You To Want Me - Lobo If You Could Read My Mind - Gordon Lightfoot Just - Radiohead Kentucky Rain - Elvis Presley London Calling - The Clash Loser - Beck More Than I Can Say - Vince Gill My Back Pages - the Byrds Never Been To Spain - Three Dog Night No One Knows - Queens Of The Stone Age No Ordinary Love - Sade Psycho killer - Talking Heads Rag Mama Rag - The Band Rhinoceros - Smashing Pumpkins Rocky Mountain Way - Joe Walsh Room At The Top Of The Stairs - Eddie Rabbit Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting - Elton John Scenes From An Italian Restaurant - Billy Joel Stranger, The - Billy Joel Sugar Mountain - Neil Young Summer In The City - The Lovin Spoonful Treat Her Like A Lady - Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose Whole Lot Of Shakin' Going On - Jerry Lee Lewis :guitar:
