The Topical Ten. Can you Guess them from the Clues ?

Recommended Posts

I'm tired of looking at the Songfacts Daily/ Weekly Top Tens and seeing the same old songs ! Not that I don't like them - just that there's not much variety, so........

Here's my Top Ten for now .... well, almost.

Can you work them out from the Clues I've provided ? They were ALL U.S. HIT SINGLES - 6 or 7 of them were #1. No obscure Album Tracks.

:)

March 2nd 2006.

1. The most played song on U.S. radio.

2. For a relative of one of the Fab 4 (written by Paul).

3. How The King would feel after an accident.

4. What a gullible moron thinks, according to this Group.

5. NOT Ebb Tide. Bigger than that she reckons.

6. I thought the rain had stopped, but....

7. Resurrected in Moulin Rouge (the original version though).

8. Medley from a 60s Stage Musical (sung by a Group).

9. A Texas city on the Coast.

10.Think of Sherlock Holmes for this place in the U.K..

.................................................

I hope a few people will pluck up the courage to have a go. See how many YOU can get. Answer as many times as you like. GOOD LUCK !

Not that tricky Das. Especially since I didn't know about "Let It Be" being written by Paul for his Mother. I always thought Mother Mary was a spiritual reference !

You're all very sharp. I thought you'd have more trouble with #4 and maybe give another answer for #6, although Joe's was the one I was after.

Thanks for participating, and for the nice words about the game. I'm preparing a new one now. Here's the final TOP TEN again.

1. YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVIN' FEELIN' / RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS

2. HEY JUDE / BEATLES

3. ALL SHOOK UP / ELVIS PRESLEY

4. WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES / DOOBIE BROTHERS

5. THE TIDE IS HIGH / BLONDIE

6. IT'S RAINING AGAIN / SUPERTRAMP

7. LADY MARMALADE / LABELLE

8. AQUARIUS: LET THE SUN SHINE IN (FLESH FAILURES) / 5th DIMENSION

9. GALVESTON / GLEN CAMPBELL

10.BAKER STREET / GERRY RAFFERTY
