audioslave
Rolling stone said if he Strokes played Lynard Skynard they'd sound like this - it's true. Check them out at kingsofleon.com - especially Holyroller Novacaine. :guitar:
MindCrime
I've heard of this band, but not much in music, are they mostly folk influenced?
audioslave
they're reminiscent of the velvet underground to me and my friends thought they sounded like the kinks. I think they're pretty amazing.
Foxy
I bought their new album "Aha Shake Heartbreak" a couple of weeks ago. It's a great album, he has such a different voice, they aren't like anyone around at the moment IMO. Its refreshing to see someone oing their own thang!! If you get the chance, listen to a song called 'Velvet Snow', I dunno what it is about it, but it makes me really happy everytime I listen to it - it's just one hell of a crazy song 'The Bucket' is a great song as well, I think they may have released this one in the UK?? 'Milk' is quite a nice background song while you're doing whatever you're doing
SoulGirl
i love them!! their first album rocks and i saw them at oxegen last summer and they were great - very fresh and different and i love the singer's gravelly voice!

DiggsUK
Top band with a southern 'hairy' thing going on. A friend went to see them a few days ago, and said he was the only one there without a beard. Cool 'National Health' Jack Duckworth style glasses too. 'Milk' is quite a nice background song while you're doing whatever you're doing Get the first album too - Youth and Young Manhood - it's great and the song "Molly's Chamber" is used in some car commercial (where the young couple is jumpingup and down in their apartment and the old man downstairs is trying to get them to be quiet) - Anyway - Kings of Leon are Caleb, Matthew, Jared and Nathan Followill - brothers and cousins - from Tennessee - preacher's kids - and they really know how to rock! This is the best new band I've heard this century.
johnnyguitar
Ditto the above...seen 'em twice...top new band and both albums are corkers...look out for the hidden tracks. :guitar:
Lambchop Flansburgh
Hmm.... hate to sound grumpy, but I saw these guys open for U2 and I wasn't impressed. Maybe they sound better on CD than they do live.
EagleEye0
Kings of Leon's single , "The Bucket" sounds simliar to U2's, "I Will Follow" song off their debut album Boy released in 1980. I believe they ripped off U2 in the regard. If you want good modern rock, listen to Acceptance their most recent Album Phantomsis surprisingly good for a modern rock and roll outfit. Foxy
I don't think they've ripped anyone off, can't see a real similarity in the songs IMO. Why don't you make a thread for 'Acceptance' and tell us a bit about where we can find them, listen to them, what you think of them, etc

Foxy
Probably. I can't listen to it at the moment because my CD is at my place, and I'm not staying there
