In the 80´s, from New York City, leaded by the charismatic frontman. singer, guitar and designer Rudi Protrudi and armed with their Phantom guitars, Vox fuzz pedals and organ, the Fuzztones became the main responsibles for the revival of the 60´s Garage Rock & Roll sounds, gaining for themselves the merit of discovering to many Rock & Roll lovers here in europe, eager for some new sensations and fresh air in the Rock universe (it´s curious that you have to turn your look back to the past, make a trip to the graveyard and exhume bands and styles entombed long ago), bands like The Sonics, The Count Five, Shadows of Knight, Kenny & The Kasuals and others, which captured tha basic essence (often forgotten nowadays) of old Rock & Roll: raw energy, unconventionalism, freaky attitude and provocation, and above all, pursuit of FUN.

"Lysergic Emanations", their first LP is, in my humble opinion, their masterpiece. 12 discharges of powerful, energic and direct psycho-garage-Rock & Roll, which, like strychnine, "make you jump and make you shout", exciting the Rock & Roll animal inside us in a journey to the center of our freak minds. The record includes great covers of some garage classics: the opening powerful track "1-2-5", by The Haunted; "Gotta get some", a song by The Bold; Kenny & The Kasuals´ "Journey To Tyme"; The Godz´s disturbing "Radar Eyes"; The Tropics´ "As Time´s gone" ; Calico Wall´s disquieting "Living Sickness" and the great two Sonics´ classics "Strychnine" with a very fine Deb O´Nair´s job at the organ and the energic and bluesy "Cinderella". Along with these, some Protrudi´s original tracks: the fantastically insane "Ward 81", the beautiful ballad with spanish flavour "Just Once" and the band´s big classics "Highway 69" and "She´s Wicked".

A classical revivalist recording recomendable for the lovers of the old 60´s garage stuff and a dood introduction for the young rockers who want to discover it
