invisible_r
i'm curious about the brit pop years really, because those are the ones with music i like. i wonder how many will be there and if any will appear in the us chart
_Laurie_
I like Eric Clapton "Tears In Heaven"....but such a sad song too. "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me"....and "Sometimes Love Just Aint Enough" are a couple of good duets. "Under The Bridge"...Red Hot Chili Peppers is another one I like also... OLD 55
You guys don't like Whitney Houston's remake of Dolly Parton's song for Porter Waggoner ? I thought both the song and the movie "Bodyguard" were great. P.S. I'm only doing two more years. As I've said, I think the Charts went completely Kapow in 1996. OLD 55
I'm glad you like it Rachel. I reckon I must be younger at heart than many others here. I can find good songs every year ! I even liked Achy Breaky Heart in 1992. A song I really loved that year was Would I Lie To You / Charles & Eddie. One of my favorites and a #1 here. I like All That She Wants too. Ace Of Base had some really good songs.
katie_sane
The charts disintergrate just when I was getting into music, 1996! My mum loves 'The Bodyguard' and 'I Will Always Love You' too! Personally, I'm not much of a fan. 1993 looks pretty ordinary! I mean, where are most of those artists now? invisible_r
i hate " i will always love you" and i hated the movie too. i don't particularly like any of the songs, i just feel nostalgic remebering them, it's just a bit of fun! OLD 55
Katie, maybe I can put some on past 1996 for you and Rachel. Do you want to find some more "90s Kids" to look at them ? I just can't guarantee how accurate the Charts will be. Also, any feedback is good feedback. Please keep it coming. Don't you older folk get put off by all this new fangled music. invisible_r
i'm pretty happy looking at them myself, even if katie doesn't like them or find them amusing! everyone feels nostalgic about the music that was around when they were growing up, no? Jenny
I like "A Whole New World"....I think it's a sweet little song. I also like the Whitney remake, but I think most people don't remember it fondly because it was overplayed. You're doing a great job, Old55, and even if I don't comment I lot, I always read this thread.
OLD 55
Thanks Jenny - you're sweet. I like that song too. I would have liked to seen the movie Aladdin but our kids were all a bit too old.

invisible_r
ah, the infamous "love is all around" which , I am told, stayed in the charts for so long, eveyone got sick of it. "saturday night", what a pointless song, but still quite nostalgic. same with "the sign" by ace of base "zombie" was a good song
