Personaly I'm a big fan of Robbie as a performer, and Guy Chambers as his writer. Most..Infact all of my friend's dislike Robbie, and I wanted to know what true music lovers think of him.

Also, as a side note, now he is writing his own songs with Duffy, are the songs better or worse? Personaly I feel he has lost the sincarity he had before.

Love, love, love Robbie!

He was always destined for bigger things.

His lyrics cut to the bone, he wears his heart on his sleeve, he pulls no punches and bares his soul for all to see. Vocally, his range is superb and unique.

His personality sets the stage on fire, he gives 110%, he gives you his blood, sweat and tears every show without fail - you will not forget one of his concerts!

I like his new stuff, and even his older, poppy stuff. Escapology was fantastic and things can only get better from there onwards.

Bless, he is such a cheeky chappie - but his heartbreak and desperate loneliness are ever present.

There's no earthly way of knowing

What was in you heart

When it stopped going

The whole world shook

A storm was blowing through you

Waiting for God to stop this

And up to your neck in darkness

Everyone around you was corrupted

Say something

There's no dignity in death

To sell the world your last breath

We're still fighting over everything you left

(CHOURUS)

I saw you standing at the gates

When Marlon Brando passed away

You had that look upon your face

Advertising space

No one learned from your mistakes

We let our prophets go to waste

All that's left in any case

Is advertising space

Through your eyes the world was burning

Please be gentle I'm still learning

You seemed to say as you kept turning up

They poisoned you with compromise

At what point did you realise

That everybody loves your life but you

A special agent for the man

Through Watergate and Vietnam

No one really gave a damn

Do you think the CIA did

(CHOURUS)

I saw you standing at the gates

When Marlon Brando passed away

You had that look upon your face

Advertising space

No one learned from your mistakes

We let our prophets go to waste

All that's left in any case

Is advertising space

I've seen your daughter man she's cute

I was scared but I wanted to

Boy she looks a lot like you

Pretty much, you have to look realy hard to to find some one who can't sing one of his songs, even those who hate him know his music. In terms of being known he is almost bigger than the beatles among the young, and bigger than the royal family among... well every one!

Tripping

First they ignore you

Then laugh at you and hate you

Then they fight you, then you win

When the truth dies very bad things happen

They're being heartless again

I know it's coming there's gonna be violence

I've taken as much as I'm willing to take

But why do you think we should suffer in silence?

When a heart is broken there's nothing to break

You've been mixing with some very heavy faces

The boys have done a bit of bird

They don't kill their own

They all love their mothers

But you're out of your depth son have a word

I know it's coming there's gonna be violence

I've taken as much as I'm willing to take

Why do you think we should suffer in silence?

The heart is broken there's nothing to break

All is wonderful in past life

Dreaming of the sun she warms

You should see me in the afterlife

Picking up the sons who go

When you think we're lost, we're exploring

What you think is worthless i'm adoring

You don't want the truth, truth is boring

I've got this fever need to

Leave the house, leave the car

Leave the bad men where they are

I'll leave a few shells in my gun

And stop me staring at the sun

I know it's coming there's gonna be violence

I've taken as much as I'm willing to take

But why do you say we should suffer in silence?

My heart is broken there's nothing to break

This is another good one. Even though it is catchy, it still has a strong message.

But here lies my point, its like he is trying to write a song with a message, its like when you produce somthing becuase you have to, not becuase you want to. Me & My Monkey was a great song, because he was singing about what he wanted, rather that being told "This is the format you need to follow". It just feels fake, even though it has a perfectly valid message.
