pinkstones
You'd never hack it in either my hometown (Chicago) or where I live now (North Carolina). Believe it or not, it can get very cold here in the winter. Not bone-chillingly cold like in the Midwest or the Northeast, but cold. It's 30 degrees right now, with a wind chill of 18. It's supposed to be in the 40s all week, so the 6 inches of snow we got yesterday will be mostly gone by Thursday. It's pretty cloudy, but every now and again, there's a slight wash of sunlight as it tries to peek through.
TheLizard
In Northern Indiana, 40's is t-shirt weather. Oftentimes in the winter I wonder why I didn't attend the University of Texas.
RonJonSurfer
It started snowing around 10:30 am today. It is almost 8:30 pm now and we have somewhere around 10 inches of snow. I think we'll easily get another 10 inches at this rate. The wind chill makes it feel like 2 degrees.
pinkstones
It's 27 here at the moment, with a wind chill of 17. The snow is done, thankfully. It'll be gone by mid-week anyway, so it's not a big deal.
edna
I don't care whether it's cold, very cold, very very cold, it snows or the wind blows and the rain falls and so... I love summer.
Farin
fortunately? as opposed to what? My eyeballs freeze in 40 degree weather. lol tomorrow we'll have an expected max temperature of -10°C = 14°F
Carl
About 25F here, but it's been snowing on and off for about 24 hours, and it's not the good wet snow that makes for snowmen and snowball fights, it's the dry stuff that blows all over the place. pinkstones
Summer sucks. Getting heat stroke, heat rashes, and sweating through every piece of clothing you own is neither fun, nor enjoyable. It's far easier for me to warm up than it is to cool down, so winter is my favorite time of year. It's funny looking at all this snow and thinking that just a few months ago, the heat index was 119. RonJonSurfer
We ended up with just short of 30 inches of snow, but at least the wind is still blowing around 30-40 miles an hour with zero wind chill. C'mon Shawna, you must have a spare room in AZ.
edna
I can't believe my young sister will be living there... with all that cold and snow and airports closed... I know, half of my family lives in the East Coast but yet I an't get used to the idea... I wish you lots of warmth, east Coasters!!!
pinkstones
It's not really a big deal, I mean it sucks but you get over it. What other option is there? Just get on with it. I grew up in Chicago, where the winters are 10x worse than they are here in North Carolina, but you just suck it up, throw on some extra layers and go about your business. Farin
I'm fatalistic like that too... what's the use complaining about the weather - you can't change it anyway... and summer's coming early enough
Jenny
We got about 10 inches of snow here. My poor sister in south Jersey got worse and south Jersey is not as well equipped for snow as we are, so the plows just came down her neighborhood this morning. She called out of work yesterday and today. Winter is the one time of the year no one makes fun of me for living in the boonies.

I can't stand winter or snow or cold... I love summer, heat (strokes? I never get heat strokes, it's never hot enough for me... I come from Hell!!) and I never sweat... I miss the soft weather so much... tomorrow we'll have an expected max temperature of -10°C = 14°F I see Europe and the East Coast are freezing now... I plan to go to israel one day and maybe retire there I was told it's hot.

Carl
For a few hours this weekend, the snow morphed into perfect snowman/snowball snow, and with no one to start a snowball fight with, I did the next best thing. There's not much left of him now.
Jenny
That's a nice snowman,Carl. My daughter and I made a snowman on Saturday afternoon and it rained Saturday night, so all that's left is a snowlump. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted

Carl
This storm was no joke. Might have some interesting pics soon, but it was 20+ inches. Went to bed with no snow on the ground, woke up and there was at least a foot and it was still snowing. And crazy quiet. No cars, plows, etc. until it finally stopped. RonJonSurfer
Yep, it swung east and hammered Connecticut...we ended up with around 8 inches.
Shawna
20+ INCHES? Stephen Colbert said it was going to dump 14 FEET. I believe everything Stephen Colbert says. I feel robbed. Where's the 14 FEET?
