Is Films and Music Dying?

Wait for it...better films with outstanding music/soundtracks are just around the corner. If this forum ever becomes a ghost town, surf over the http://imdb.com/ and you'll find all manner of posts on films and music. Other places? http://www.musicstrands.com/ and http://last.fm are two very different places where music and film folk congregate. :drummer:

When I suggested this forum way back when, I had the idea of IMDB in mind. My penchant for music trivia is only diverted by my penchant for film trivia, and visa-versa. I love the way films and music interact. I love it all. From the early epics to the independent shorts. And oh how music plays it's major role.

I wanted to draw on the impact music has on films.

Imagine the end of Love Story without that music, that's enough right there to make you cry.

I think what I love most about music and film music is it's ability to reach the soul, to trigger emotions that otherwise might be left unaroused.

I don't think it's dying, just, there is a lot of forums that require less "commitment". Thoses less important, "easy-to-play" types are the topic I see are more popular.

I think it's a great topic psycho...especially with more of the classic films...I dont get to see too many of the new movies that are out now, so I dont know if they use music to them like they use to....If I watch a good movie, and I like the music in the movie, it makes me like the movie even more...I liked Forest Gump and after watching it, It's the music in the movie that I commented on first...I liked it so much, I bought the soundtrack!...so I think music definitely has a big influence on the movie.
