RonJonSurfer
If you ever feel the need to transport yourself back to 1973 and get that classic concert hall guitar sound...do yourself a favor and listen to The Width of a Circle from "Ziggy Stardust The Movie". This concert is truly the Spiders last stand. If memory serves the date was July 3, 1973 at The Hammersmith Odeon. Ronson was all distortion that night always on the brink of feedback. His unmistakeable sound and penchant for pick slides is demonstrated in their full glory. The first solo on The Width of a Circle is over 7 minutes of pure, unadulterated joy for fans of the 70's concert hall sound. Listen and listen loud. katie_sane
RonJon, you know the cover of Waiting For The Man that Bowie does on the Almost Famous soundtrack, is that from then too?
RonJonSurfer
It's from that era, but I think it is either an alternate cut or taken from another "authorized" bootleg form 72-73. I need to go back and really listen to it again.
