Otokichi
Barnes & Noble opened a branch at Ala Moana Center, and I was downtown on business, so I dropped in to see how it compared with Borders. Liz Story's "17 Seconds To Anywhere" sounded interesting, so it joined Charles Dutoit/Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, John Whelan and Anita Baker. That's when I came across "Music 1968-1971," a collection of Mason Williams "thangs." I'd always thought he was a Pop music artist, but there he was with Liz Story in "New Age"! Does anyone remember this Sixties guitar player/composer?
RonJonSurfer
Classical Gas?? Was that him?
bluesboy
I remember him just as much for his comedy writing as his song Classical Gas. He was one of the writers on the Smothers Brothers show (among others) and it seemed he was always on the show. Maybe he's just lumped into the counter-culture and new age section. johnnyguitar
Go for this... http://www.classicalgas.com/home.html Anyone who's ever picked up a classical or steel strung acoustic should at least try to work out the intro to 'classical gas'.
