edna
Yes, you know, we might be trapped in a traffic jam, or have a need of sugar on the road...

Carl
I have nothing in my boot, but then again, it's a new boot. I should point out that we Americans would ordinarily refer to it as a "trunk," but this is a British car, so it gets the boot:
MarcM
Not a lot of space in the back of a Mini S. You may be able to fit a copy of Rolling Stone between the back of the rear seat and the lift gate, as long as it is not a special edition of RS! Cool car, by the way, Carl! I test drove one when they first came out and it was a blast!

katie_sane
We call bathing suits 'cossies' or 'swimmers'. Funny we all call them something different! All I have in my boot is an esky that's been in there since the Taralga Rodeo in January.
Sarah_Star
Whats an esky? There's a 'rap' group out at the moment in Britian and they keep littering their lyrics with that word...(I use 'rap' in a loose term, they are dire)... Please help clear this up for me!! Earth-Angel
I thought it was a windproof jacket with a hoodie lined with fur. Like an eskimo kinda jacket.

edna
A MIni isn´t a British car? I thought it was... Austin or Morris... I had a boyfriend who had a Mini and I remember his neighbour had a Rolls Royce.. it was funny to see both cars side by side in the garage... invisible_r
the mini is/was british but the new mini was bought and developed by bmw, so you could say it was german, just not in front of any british person !
edna
I see... so it was British when it wasn´t bmw... that makes it british for me...
katie_sane
I thought Esky's were world wide! Obviously not! An Esky is not a rap group or a coat but an insulated box where you put your drinks and food to keep 'em cool. You guys must call them 'coolers'. The look like this: I can guarentee that no Australian home is without at least one. We have about a dozen, and they're great for taking to rodeos and outdoor events as they keep the beer cold
Sarah_Star
Thanks for clearing that up for me Katie. I am still no closer in understanding why a British 'rap' group would litter their verses with that word though. Hmmmmm...?
