katie_sane Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I voted for Led Zeppelin 4, but I also think the 3-disc live compliation "How The West Was Won" is really really good.
Batman Posted May 30, 2004 Author Report Posted May 30, 2004 Sorry about not putting on live albums. Presence is a live album right?
Malakin Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 Nope. It's the one just before In Through the Out Door. A commercial flop, truly, as far as Zep albums go, but I kinda dig it.. It was very bluesy, back to the roots rock'n roll, not the synth stuff on In Through.... And, interesting trivia, Robert Plan was in a real bad car accident, really crushed one foot, besides other things. Doc said he wouldn't walk again, they recorded this album while he was in a wheelchair. He went on tour in a few months, cause he was determined to get on stage again...
MindCrime Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 It's hard to choose between most of their albums. To me their undisputed masterpiece is Physical Graffiti, but most others would disagree. I think II had the best quantity of songs, yet IV had the best quality. I wounded up voting for Houses of the Holy, to help it in the ratings.
beatleant Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Of course, Led Zep 'I'. Although 'IV' is a good album, it's highly overrated.
Dyer_made Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 now this is what i call an insane topic.should have been the worst album by zeppelin, then we would be able to vote more clearly and precisely.there simply isnt one best album of zep.and if you want to take this further why not have apoll on the best zep song!!(now thats impossible)
miamisammy29 Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Toss up, but I think "Zep II" just barely edges out "Physical Graffiti". And there is no WORST Zep album. For those who wish to talk of bad albums, I suggest starting a Dave Matthews or Genesis thread, but I most likely won't visit that one. The rap thing's already been done to death.
Danielj Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 II has my vote....narrowly over IV and Houses Of The Holy
Aunt_Acid Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 I have only heard IV, so it has my vote.
_jr_ Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 I've always been partial to Houses of the Holy. My favorite songs, though, are Battle of Evermore and Misty Mountain Hop.
