"Rotterdam (or anywhere)"

The Beautiful South

Released in 1996 in their album "Blue Is The Colour" (platinum disc in the UK). It was a Top Ten single.

...a melodic, bouncy pop song with a sting in the words. 'Rotterdam (Or Anywhere)' is about how loneliness can follow you anywhere.

One love

We get to share it

Leaves you baby if you

Don't care for it

-" One " ~ U2

In the garden I was playing the tart

I kissed your lips and broke your heart

You...you were acting like it was

The end of the world

" The End Of The World " ~U2

Lesson number one that you learn while you're young,

Life just goes on and on getting harder and harder

" Indian Girl " - The Rolling Stones

If you didn't care what happened to me,

And I didn't care for you

We would zig zag our way through the boredom and pain

Occasionally glancing up through the rain

Wondering which of the buggers to blame

And watching for pigs on the wing.

" Pigs On The Wing ( Pt.1 ) " - Pink Floyd

Everybody knows that the captain lied

Everybody got this broken feeling

"Everybody knows that you love me baby

Everybody knows that you really do

Everybody knows that you've been faithful

Ah give or take a night or two

Everybody knows you've been discreet

But there were so many people you just had to meet

Same song. :)
