From his album "Rodney Crowell" (1981) Originally released by Emmylou Harris in 1975. It was a hit for Crystal Gayle´s cover in 1982. Rodney Crowell says on his web page: ...I played “Til I Can Gain Control Again†for the first time during an all night drinking and song swapping session. It was a great way to learn the craft of songwriting. â€â€™Til I Can Gain Control Againâ€... came to Emmylou Harris’s attention as she was preparing for her first album in late 1974. She recorded it. Along with "Tighten Up" it was one of their two biggest hits. This song was included in their debut LP "I can´t stop dancing". some Artistfacts: Archie Bell (September 1st, 1944, Texas) formed his soul vocal band in 1966 in Philadelphia. They released six albums between 1968 and 1980. They split in 1980. His brother was the NFL player Ricky Bell (1955-1984). Bell was drafted and was wounded in one leg in Vietnam.
