Mike
My wife gave me this idea when she took my son to the build-a-bear store --- You've heard of superbands?!! ?Lead guitarist - ?Rhythm guitarist (optional)- ?Acoustic guitarist (optional)- ?Bassist - ?Percussionist - ?Keyboards - ?Lead vocals - ?other instrument ( )- assuming they could all work together and create a chemistry (insert lottery odds here) It just sounded like fun to see what you all would come up with. Tenacious_Peaches
Do we need a separate cowbell-ist, or can the percussionist handle it all?

cindy17838
Starters Lead Guitarist - Eddie Van Halen Acoustic Guitarist - Eric Clapton 12 string - Steve Howe Double neck - Jimmy Page Bassist - Flea Percusionist - Neil Peart Keyboards or piano - Bruce Hornsby Lead Vocals - Bono Subs Lead Guitarist - Eric Johnson Bassist - Geddy Lee Percusionist - Stewart Copeland Keyboards or piano - Matt Johnson Lead Vocals - Sting Odds that they would get along, probably none. It would be good to see Stewart and Sting back together or at least on the same team. If the recording sessions could be made into a reality TV show I would watch it. The premise could be 'how many come out alive'.
katie_sane
Lead Guitarist - George Harrison/Keith Richards/Jimmy Page Rhythm Guitarist - Malcolm Young/Pete Townshend Acoustic Guitarist - Eric Clapton Bassist - Jack Bruce/John Paul Jones Percussionist - Keith Moon/Ginger Baker Keyboards - Lead Vocals - Robert Plant/Jim Morrison/Mick Jagger Would they get along? Most certainly not! I think that's what would make it so interesting and short lived!!!
bluesboy
How about a band already built. Chick Corea - keyboards Al DiMeola - guitar Stanley Clarke - bass Lenny White - drums A true jazz fusion super group, put out a couple of albums ('75-'76), then all went on to successful solo careers. MuzikTyme
If I could build a band with Floyd's categories then I'd simply resurrect the former members of the Beatles together and marvel at what type of song they would create now and wonder if it'd be as timeless as their music, again. cindy17838
Several people I mentioned were actually in a supergroup or superband, Steve Howe and Jimmy Page, Asia, and the Firm. The Firm was Ok but I really liked Asia, had there first three releases. Did anyone else like Asia? I never hear any of their music on the radio anymore. Any Yes, or ELP fans out there who liked this supergroup? Or even any Bad Company and Zeppelin fans who liked the Firm?
cadillac_coffin
I'm impressed that so many have chosen Billy Powell for the keyboard spot. He is defintely one who is overlooked. My line up would be: Lead guitar: SRV Rhythm guitar: Gary Rossington Percussion: Ringo Starr Keys: Billy Powell Vocals: Ronnie Van Zant Bass: Mike Gordon
