They sound like old style rock, not from the 00's at all! With influences as far reaching as 70's glam rock and 80's new wave to punk, garage and soul- Ben Grimes (guitar, lead vocals), Harry Anderson (bass), Ryan Shank (drums), and Kenn Jankowski (guitar, keyboard) have set out to awaken the spirit of American rock music. They played their first show on a college campus in Joplin, MO to about 30 people, and thus The Golden Republic was born. With their unique songwriting and powerful live performances, they have steadily built a dedicated following throughout the Midwest. They have since completed extensive tours with Sondre Lerche, Idlewild and Nada Surf to a huge critical reaction and are set to hit the road again later this year (with label mate Sondre Lerche). Look for the The Golden Republic to release their self-titled full-length debut, produced by Peter Katis (Interpol) in early 2005.
