Security Alert - Attention Administrators

Recommended Posts

To the administrators: (Carl/Sara)

Is this something to be concerned about?

It only happens when viewing the "Dedications" thread in the "Fun & Games" Forum.

When my preferences are set at 20 posts per page it happens on page 3. When my preferences are set at 30 posts per page it happens on page 2 so it may vary what page it happens on depending on each user's settings.

Is anyone else getting this, also?

A box pops up that says:

Security Alert

Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others.

However There is a problem with the site's security Certificate.

The security certificate is from a trusted certifying authority.

The security certificate date is valid.

The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of this site.

Do you want to proceed?

Yes No View Certificate

I didn't click on any of the choices above. Instead I just clicked the red X in the top right corner to get rid of it.

Is this something for you or us to be concerned about?

I have no idea what all of you lunatics are talking about.

Go to the "Fun and Games" forum and click on the "Dedications" thread.

Click on each page. When you get to either page 2 or 3 (it all depends on the # of posts per page), you will see a "Security Alert" box pop up.

Oh oh... Does it mean I should copy the images into my hard disk and then use an uploader to post them, instead of picking them right from the web? And how can I know which images are "postable" and which not?

You should always download images off the internet then upload them to a image server like http://www.applepics.com/

or http://photobucket.com/ both are free.

You see, if you post an image directly from a web site like this songfacts.gif

you are stealing their bandwidth which is a no-no, and Carl (our webmaster) will hear about it most likely.

Bandwidth? I don't need no stinkin' bandwidth.
