Brad_M
To the administrators: (Carl/Sara) Is this something to be concerned about? It only happens when viewing the "Dedications" thread in the "Fun & Games" Forum. When my preferences are set at 20 posts per page it happens on page 3. When my preferences are set at 30 posts per page it happens on page 2 so it may vary what page it happens on depending on each user's settings. Is anyone else getting this, also? A box pops up that says: Security Alert Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However There is a problem with the site's security Certificate. The security certificate is from a trusted certifying authority. The security certificate date is valid. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of this site. Do you want to proceed? Yes No View Certificate I didn't click on any of the choices above. Instead I just clicked the red X in the top right corner to get rid of it. Is this something for you or us to be concerned about?
_Laurie_
I've gotten this same alert, and just clicked it off on the x like you did, Brad. I dont know what forum I was in though when it happened... I figured it was just my computer.
scott
Happened to me as well.
edna
I had that too once, some weeks ago. Just the warning... it looked like the one I get in my hotmail so I didn´t even read it and made it disappear.
Batman
It happened to me, too.

Carl
I sent an inquiry to the boards people. Hopefully we'll have an answer soon.

Go to the "Fun and Games" forum and click on the "Dedications" thread. Click on each page. When you get to either page 2 or 3 (it all depends on the # of posts per page), you will see a "Security Alert" box pop up.
Earth-Angel
I believe what it is is that some of the images in the threads are linked to external sites and they are asking you to view the certificate for that site.
Carl
EA is right. Here's what the board tech said: The image that "edna" posted is on an SSL site that has an invalid SSL certificate.
edna
Oh oh... Does it mean I should copy the images into my hard disk and then use an uploader to post them, instead of picking them right from the web? And how can I know which images are "postable" and which not?

You should always download images off the internet then upload them to a image server like http://www.applepics.com/ or http://photobucket.com/ both are free. You see, if you post an image directly from a web site like this you are stealing their bandwidth which is a no-no, and Carl (our webmaster) will hear about it most likely. Tenacious_Peaches
Bandwidth? I don't need no stinkin' bandwidth. Edna, I like ImageShack to host my pictures. You don't even have to register if you don't want to.
