I only have about five T-Rex songs and I really, really like what I hear, so can anyone recommend more songs or albums? Did anyone see them live way back when? Thank God Marc Bolan (or Bolin???) plugged in...Flo and Eddie (The Turtles) sing a lot of background stuff on his later work. Ringo took some of the album artwork (The cover of The Slider for sure). I personally like "The Slider" better though. Heres some song recomendations: Mambo Sun, Bang a Gong (Get It On), Planet Queen, Metal Guru, The Slider, Rock On, Telegram Sam, Rabbit Fighter, 20th Century Boy, Mystic Lady. Slower than Ronson's version on Aladdin Sane, but very sweet. I also saw a video on VH1 last night of T-Rex doing 20th Century Boy...sweet again. Rolan Bolan, Marc's son, was interviewing people who worked with T-Rex on this project. They showed some footage from the movie, including scenes with T-Rex, Elton John and Ringo Starr in the studio and the concert that was filmed. Marc and T-Rex looked absolutely electric. It's very hard to get a "best of" with all their Hits, eg their biggest Hits in Australia often aren't included - "Hot Love" (#72 U.S.) and "Children Of The Revolution" (didn't even chart in the U.S.). That is just crazy!! I thought it was really great...I enjoyed the bits with Marc Bolan on stage just totally rocking out. The few snippets they showed of Marc sitting on the stage playing acoustic guitar sounded great, I wish I knew the names of the songs. This album underscores the zenith of glam rock. If you thoroughly appreciated this magnificent album listen to Tanx or the Slider. Zip Gun has its moments, but was deemeedd a commercial failure.
