How about: L7 - Andres Cowboy Junkies - Sweet Jane Menswear - Daydreamer Korn - A.D.I.D.A.S Ugly kid Joe - cat's in the cradle Presidents of the USA - dune buggy Marilyn Manson - lunchbox Third eye blind - semi-charmed life Counting crows - Perfect blue buildings I'm not sure if you wanted solo artists too, but Tori Amos, Alanis Morrisette, Fiona Apple, Eagle-eye Cherry etc were pretty big in that time frame too

Zahid
Check out Stir, a great 90s band that nobody seems to have heard of. They did get some radio play for a couple of songs, including one called New Beginning and one called Climbing the Walls. Excellent songwriting and playing. katie_sane
'Spaceman' by Babylon Zoo is a great song!! I forgot all about it. I would add Metallica to this list. They had some great stuff out in the 90's. The Empire Records Soundtrack has some great 90's tunes on it.
Earth-Angel
I was thinking of adding Metallica to the list too, Katie, but didn't really think they were a 90's band as such. But I only really like their 90's stuff, so hey, there's another one on the list! Oh, and Babylon Zoo! Spaceman was great! But it was so wierd the way he thought he was going to take over the world and be the greatest superstar ever in his tinfoil skirt and clingwrap jacket...he was not a well puppy... Earth-Angel
Yeah yeah, that's the very one! There were quite alot of good acts in the 90's! Certainly an improvement on the stonewashed jeans, whiteboy perms of the 80's hairband rock! I'm going to get flak for this one, I can just tell! But really, this was the decade I know best and love the most, I honestly still listen to 90% of this stuff and am not tired of it yet!
invisible_r
i agree sue, it's the music i grew up with and it will always have a place in my heart. for example, i went to see bush a couple of years ago and almost cried when they played "glycerine"
