Brad_M Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Did everyone hear about the new roller coaster that debuted this spring at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, USA? This is wicked! Check this out! With a hydraulic launch of 128 mph in 3.5 seconds and a maximum height of 456 feet, it is the fastest and tallest roller coaster in the world! Aunt_Acid Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 That looks awesome. I was just at Six Flags a few weeks ago, but the one in Chicago. The Superman ride was pretty cool.
RonJonSurfer Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 I'll be on it in a few weeks on my son's birthday. Nice way to die.
InsaneTim Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Well that looks freaking awesome, except I don't trust Six Flags coasters. Way too many accidents.
Batman Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 I'm scared just looking at it. And I don't mean in a cliched way, seriously, I am scared.
Foxy Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Thats terrifying, there's no way you'd get me on it. I'd love to be brave enough... I'm guessing it plunges straight into hell...
edna Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 I just went on one of these things once. Best definition: I never held a man so tight.
invisible_r Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 aaa, i want to ride a roller coaster! haven't had the chance in ages! the scarier the better, although i occasionally have a problem with the safety belt, when they are like vests and come on really tight (i get claustophobic)
SoulGirl Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 ooooooh i love rollercoasters! i love to be scared like that!
Aunt_Acid Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 You love to be scared? Then try sitting next to my aunt Patsy during a car ride.
DiggsUK Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 You wouldn't get me on that thing! All that force pushing on nuts & bolts that could just work loose. Also, they say a chain is as strong as its weakest link - there must be thousands of potential weak links in that machine just waiting to be missed when lubing, or suffer metal fatigue due to unseen manufacturing problems. Don't get me wrong, I like my thrills, but that looks like an accident waiting to happen. Old git
_jr_ Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 - there must be thousands of potential weak links in that machine just waiting to be missed when lubing, or suffer metal fatigue due to unseen manufacturing problems. Hence the thrill.

Space looks just fine from here !
Jimmy1104 Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 Hear ! Hear ! Your description could apply to a rocket or the shuttle as well ... Space looks just fine from here ! Kevin....your comment reminds me of the funniest line in the movie Armageddon when Steve Buscemi (Rockhound) looks over to Bruce Willis (Harry) right before liftoff and makes the following comment: You know we're sitting on four million pounds of fuel, one nuclear weapon and a thing that has 270,000 moving parts built by the lowest bidder. Makes you feel good, doesn't it?
Jenny Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 That coaster's called Kingda Ka and I can't wait to ride it!!! I have been riding coasters at Great Adventure since I was 11 and am still alive to tell the tale. I love the thrill of it all. Sure, there have been accidents there, but there are more accidents on the highway every minute of the day. The best you can do is take precautions and be aware of the dangers. See all you thrill seekers on Kingda Ka this summer!
RonJonSurfer Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 Did you see the new coaster is already closed for some mysterious repair work??
Jade46536 Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 WOW! I hav neva heard of the rollercoaster..... until NOW! It luk's awesome!
