Earth-Angel 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2006 Ladyhawke. I remember seeing this at a sleepover party in Junior School - really interesting and sad storyline.
Otokichi 9 Report post Posted June 11, 2006 The Discovery Channel's "Oops! Can I have the last five minutes back again?" series, "I Shouldn't Be Alive": A military man and his son take the ski lift to the top of a ski run in Turkey, start walking down, get lost in a snow storm, then try to fumble their way down. (They not only do not stay in the area, their meanderings take them as far away and in a direction where search & rescue aren't looking!) Next up: A foursome on an aerial sightseeing tour over the Sea of Cortez runs into foul weather. The airplane has to ditch, then the hapless quartet find that the $4 life jackets are the wrong size! (Plus, there's no survival kit!)
phil 7 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 Game two of the NBA finals. I haven't watched much hoop this year at all.
Wyld Card 5 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 I wanted my Phoenix Suns to go all the way this year, but they lost to the Mavericks, who are doing a good job at beating Shaq & the Heat. I'm surprised by this, but Dirk Nowitzki is the only good white player I've seen since Larry Bird.
Kevin 3 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 " That's Entertainment PT. II " : Fred Astaire - what a dork ! I could never get why anyone found this guy entertaining ... especially as a romantic male lead !

Otokichi 9 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Backstabbing. Alliances. Hiding Clues. Faking telephone messages. Accusing other teams of skulduggery. Racing from site to site, trying to piece clues together. Yep, NBC's answer to CBS' "The Amazing Race," "Treasure Hunters." I came to this late, but there's a way for the audience to get in on this hunt, too.

Otokichi 9 Report post Posted July 5, 2006 I've time-shifted "Next Stop, Discovery" for post-July 4th viewing. This is Fuji TV's "take the subway/tram/local bus from here to there and see what's at certain stops/stations in Tokyo/Japan." Broadcast/subtitled locally by KIKU TV, this current version of "Soko Ga Shiritai" looks at food, culture, side street industries, unexpected sights, etc. What's "Soko Ga Shiritai," you ask? TBS' (Japan) 1985-1997 infotainment series that visited neighborhood Japan in search of interesting people, places, food, sights, and situations. (As in: "Who/what is behind strange looking classified ads?")
Wyld Card 5 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 An American Pride "Craftmanship - Workshop" type of show hosted by Cliff from Cheers. It's a documentary about Les Paul guitars & how they're made in the shop, from scratch with regular wood, through cutting & then customized into signature Acoustics with fitted strings. Now I guess every character from Cheers has had a good show, except Kirstie Alley
Uncle Joe 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2006 Kirstie's concentrating on her weight-loss career. She's well suited for the role. (roll?)

PSYCHOcatholic 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2006 The mystery of Science young one... Laptops with Wireless internet, i was told the Japanese had a hand in it. But then again...why stop there, keep asking questions and you might just come up with something even more amazing and intelligent then wireless internet. Perhaps, you can come up with a way to insert a tv screen with microchip movies into a pair of glasses. Or vice versa...create a computer so small it could be stored into the frame of eyeglasses and then you could surf the internet with the thoughts of your mind...your inner conscience knowing what you want to surf, then maybe...just maybe.... The internet porn industry would be making BILLIONS!!! lol... :happybanana: yeah, i was on a roll, i just watched Contact with Jodie Foster and well, a ton of other good actors. I was influenced.
