Batman Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 You know, it would take less work to type those words than memorize them all
XXX Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 I cannot write "lol" when I really laugh. It's just not the same. On a messageboard I am more liberal when it comes to some abbreviations ("btw" and "fave" are probably the ones I use the most) and I love using the graemlins! I know I shouldn't, but they're great. These two are my favourites: ::
Batman Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 I use IMO a lot. I know someone who did a big paper for english, and used "jk" a lot.
Levis Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 I didn't use abbreviations earlier and my punctuation used to be flawless. Then along came instant messenger and ruined me! At the onset of my joining songfacts, I didn't use much punctuation or capitalisation either. But I've never used lol....sometimes on IM some of my friends go 'lolzz' and I try hard not to go 'ewwzzzz'
XXX Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 I never got used to "iirc". I think, "International Reply Coupons? But what about the extra 'i'?"
Earth-Angel Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 Apparently the Chinese/Cantonese/Japanese (not too sure which one) abbreviation for LOL is 555 as the word for 5 sounds like Ha! :: This is some of my friends useless internet trivia. I had 3 months of it in Sweden - it was great!
suttie Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 I always thought LOL was (lots of love) and when i was reading the posts i thought wow these people are all so close and love each other it must be so nice
