Foxy
Rumours are again circulating the media that Bob Geldof is planning a second Live Aid concert this summer for London's Hyde Park. In fact not just one concert but possibly two days worth of gigs to accommodate performances by top drawer acts like Madonna, U2, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Scissor Sisters and Robbie Williams from July 2. The event is being called Live 8 as it would take place just ahead of the G8 summit in Scotland on July 6 and put pressure on world leaders to wipe third world debt. July 13 sees the 20th anniversary of the original Live Aid which raised millions for the starving in Africa on both sides of the Atlantic. It's not clear whether the Americans are planning a similar event over the pond but some reports have suggested that Eminem may headline a US event. Harguitay
Better that Geldorf coerce the money out of guilt in exchange for entertainment than my government extort it by force in exchange for...what? Oh, right.
DJ Kat WQAQ98.1
It would be neat to see all the different acts come together again. I just don't htink normal people will be able to afford the tickets to go though. A US version would be interesting, but where would they host it?
