Uncle Joe
There was a popular song a few years ago(currently used in a commercial) that had the following lines: "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now". What's the song and who's the artist? Thank you!

edna
Must be "My back pages", Bob Dylan. Great cover by The Byrds. Crimson flames tied through my ears Rollin' high and mighty traps Pounced with fire on flaming roads Using ideas as my maps "We'll meet on edges, soon," said I Proud 'neath heated brow. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth "Rip down all hate," I screamed Lies that life is black and white Spoke from my skull. I dreamed Romantic facts of musketeers Foundationed deep, somehow. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. Girls' faces formed the forward path From phony jealousy To memorizing politics Of ancient history Flung down by corpse evangelists Unthought of, though, somehow. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. A self-ordained professor's tongue Too serious to fool Spouted out that liberty Is just equality in school "Equality," I spoke the word As if a wedding vow. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand At the mongrel dogs who teach Fearing not that I'd become my enemy In the instant that I preach My pathway led by confusion boats Mutiny from stern to bow. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats Too noble to neglect Deceived me into thinking I had something to protect Good and bad, I define these terms Quite clear, no doubt, somehow. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

Uncle Joe
Thank you all! But I'm afraid I've goofed. I gave you the wrong line from the wrong song. The song to which I refer is much more recent. The lyric goes along the lines of...I wish I knew what I knew when I was younger or something like that. Sorry I'm not being of more help. TenYearsGone
It's called "Oo La La" by The Faces Poor old granddad I laughed at all his words I thought he was a bitter man He spoke of women?s ways They?ll trap you, then they use you Before you even know For love is blind and you?re far too kind Don?t ever let it show I wish that I knew what I know now When I was younger. I wish that I knew what I know now When I was stronger. The can can?s such a pretty show They?ll steal your heart away But backstage, back on earth again The dressing rooms are grey They come on strong and it ain?t too long Before they make you feel a man But love is blind and you soon will find You?re just a boy again When you want her lips, you get a cheek Makes you wonder where you are If you want some more and she?s fast asleep Then she?s twinkling with the stars. Poor young grandson, there?s nothing I can say You?ll have to learn, just like me And that?s the hardest way Ooh la la I wish that I knew what I know now When I was younger. I wish that I knew what I know now When I was stronger. -Wood/Stewart
