Rapper 'The Game' Sued For $280 Million

The rules have changed for this Game. The Compton-based rapper, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, has been hit with a $280 million civil lawsuit, in addition to assault charges, stemming from an incident at Radio One R&B/hip-hop WKYS (93.9) Washington, D.C., on Jan. 21.

Kwasi Jones, a cameraman that was videotaping the Game's in-studio interview with former WKYS evening personality Zxulu, filed the lawsuit. Jones alleges that he and Zxulu were attacked by the Game and his 20-member entourage. The incident was triggered by remarks Zxulu allegedly made regarding a cell phone earpiece worn by the Game's manager, Jimmie Henchman.

According to court documents obtained by Billboard Radio Monitor, Jones alleges that he was "battered, assaulted, grabbed by the neck and so severely choked that he lost consciousness." The Game later made a public apology to the Radio One station on BET.

However, Jones maintains the apology was undermined shortly thereafter when the rapper boasted about the clash on a remix of 50 Cent's "Hate It or Love It." Jones claims he suffered emotional distress as a result of the lyrics.

The lawsuit, which was filed on Jones' behalf by attorneys Stephanie Moran and Gregory Watson, names the Game, his manager, 50 Cent, Aftermath Records, Shady Records, G-Unit Records, the Black Wallstreet, Radio One and the building's owners and managers as defendants.

Prosecutors in Prince George's County filed criminal charges against the former G-Unit member on Feb. 14; he is scheduled to appear in court on June 20. It is uncertain whether Zxulu, born Richard Dunkerson, will file his own civil lawsuit.

Calls to the Game's manager and Radio One were not returned by deadline.

I can see why he's filing a suit against "The Game", but why all those others? I guess those two lawyers he's retaining are expensive!
