I saw them on tv a few months ago when i was watching the NME awards and they sounded quite cool. so now that they have released an album, i'm thinking of buying it. anyway, if anyone is interested, you can listens to samples here: amazon page for kaiser chiefs
Foxy
"Oh my god I can't believe it, I've never been this far away from home!!!" Good choice Rachel, my brother introduced me to Kaiser Chiefs, I've not heard alot by them, but the stuff I've heard ("Oh My God" and "Na Na Na Na Naa" and something else I forget the name) they are really growing on me!! Jenny
Reminds me a lot of Franz Ferdinand...I like, I like. I think I'm going to put it on my wish list
invisible_r
that was my thought exactly when i first heard them! which of course is a plus as i fell in love with franz ferdinand last year!
Aisha
I think sound really cool. I'm going to have to listen to the whole album.
Earth-Angel
Funny that because the Kaiser Chiefs are a local soccer team from South Africa!
invisible_r
that's where they get their name from apparently. i just thought it was a funny name because they kind of sound like Franz Ferdinand and they are called Kaiser chiefs. maybe i'm just weird making such connections. Maddy the Hatter
Liam Gallagher described them as a bad Blur,Blur rocked! but not as much as the Kaiser Chiefs! there album is great! also love their new video for "Everyday I love you less and less"
invisible_r
they sound nothing like blur! anyway, liam can talk, i heard "lyla" on tv last week and wasn't that impressed. the days of "wonderwall" and "live forever" are a bit far behind

Moonwalker
Funny that because the Kaiser Chiefs are a local soccer team from South Africa! They actually took their name from the German word Kaizer .... but yeah they're ace!
invisible_r
i think you are wrong moonwalker, they are named after the football team "An obvious question for the band is what in hell inspired the name Kaiser Chiefs? "First thing I can tell you is, that it was the first name we all didn't hate. We were in the process of coming up with a name and out of the blue a friend of ours suggested it. We're actually named after a South African football team, which is kind of ironic because one of our players (Lucas Rutherby) left to play for Leeds (football club), so we like that connection. It was good thing we found something we all could agree on because we were a band without a name for much longer than most." source
Maddy the Hatter
Yup I agree, they sound nothing like Blur, and I'm also disappointed with Oasis's new single, guess I was just expecting more,Liam is always critising people,in the same interview that he said The Kaiser Chiefs were like a bad Blue he also said Franz Ferdinands's lead singer Alex looked like the guy from Right Said Fred on a diet only with hair..you whit? Alex is HOT! and he also said that he didn't like weird, quirky music like Franz. Gah he just annoys me,Franz rock!
invisible_r
omg, i thought i was the only one who thought he was hot! i think it's the quirky dress sense. well, you know, we can share him, he's half british half greek
Earth-Angel
Oasis' really should just have relied on their glory days to profess they are the "gods of the brit rock scene", because their new stuff is stale and boring. How disappointing! And Alex is a hottie. No doubt, you girls have good taste! What does old monobrow know about good-looking men anyway?
invisible_r
Liam has been quite popular with the girls , epsecially in the oasis glory days
Earth-Angel
Listening to "I predict a riot" right now, and it's quirky, rocky and funky! These guys are great, I'm going to have to pick up this album next week! Good recommendation Rach!
SoulGirl
i went out clubbing on friday night to this cool indie rock place. there was this guy there who was totally geeky and ordinary looking but he was dressed up exactly like the franz ferdinand lads, with a shirt buttoned up, a tie and his hair the same way - it was so sad! invisible_r
why do you think it was sad?
SoulGirl
i mean sad as in pathetic because he was trying too too hard. it's better to be yourself than to copy someone else's style top to toe.
invisible_r
i agree, but it is a more interesting look that all the other clones

invisible_r
there a bit of a concern as to whether the american audience would like them, as they are not very well know there, but everyone looked happy
_jr_
I think they held their own among the heavyweights.
