Nirvana in Congress Library!

Nirvana's music changing album, Nevermind is set to be added to a U.S. Library of Congress special vault so that it is kept safe and sound for future rockers to listen too.

According to the BBC, recordings must be deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant by a panel of experts to be included in the vault.

Well, seeing how they are not very aesthetically pleasing (and they smell like teen spirit), I guess they consider them culturally significant. I'd have to agree since they basically changed the face of rock and really music altogether.

Other additions:

The Beach Boys classic Pet Sounds, the soundtrack to Star Wars, the first full reading of the bible and recordings from Neil Armstrong?s first walk on the moon are among the recordings already enshrined in the library.

In addition, the sign at the entrance of Kurt's hometown now reads "Come As You Are" when you enter in a tribute to their #1 single.

The party responsible for the tribute was the nonprofit Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee. Committee co-chairman Jeff Burlingame said they decided on the words "come as you are" because it had "dual meanings." Burlingame also mentioned that Nirvana fans will understand the phrase?s significance, however the phrase is "vague enough to appeal to anyone coming to visit the town."
