Some instrumental pieces:

"Anji" by Paul Simon

"Manha de Carnaval" (If you like Samba, that is)

"Linus and Lucy" (It started out as a piano composition)

"Classical Gas" (How's your Flamenco?)

"Wheeha Swing" (Oops, Hawaiian Slack Key!)

Although neither is exactly a party song..."Blackbird" by The Beatles is sweet and "The Needle and the Damage Done" by Neil Young is awesome. Neil Young's acoustic "Hey Hey, My My" might work for parties and it''s easy. Donovan's "Atlantis" is fun to play. Everybody knows "Space Oddity" too...(Bowie).

Neil Young's "Heart Of Gold" is a great acoustic guitar song.

:doh:Geez, ER, how could I forget Neil Young. His stuff is way fun to play.

Like RJS said, Needle and the Damage Done is a lot of fun to play. It's also beautiful.

Sorry to say, but "American Pie" by Don McClean.

"Lola" by The Kinks

"Good Riddance" by Green Day - I hate it, but the kids love it...

And, in response to an earlier post - if you can sing "Grace" by Jeff Buckley you shouldn't be playing at parties...

I play every song in an acoustic version. It´s easy to do, imagine you´re making your own unplugged album...

Yeah Edna,

I second your emotion

:shades:

I SECOND THAT EMOTION- Smokey Robinson

A G D

D

Maybe you wanna give me kisses sweet

But only for one night and no repeat

And maybe you'll go away and never call

G A D

A taste of honey is worse than none at all

CHORUS:

G D

Oh in that case I don't want no part

G D

I do believe that that would only break my heart

Oh, but if you feel like lovin' me

A G D

And you got the notion, I second that emotion

A G

Said, if you feel like givin' me a lifetime of devotion

D A G D A G D

I second that emotion

Maybe you think that love would tie you down

And you don't have the time to hand around

Or maybe you think that love was made for fools

And so it makes you wise to break the rules

CHORUS TWICE

NOTE: Try playing this chords barred and then sliding up to them to

create some of the

sound of the original.

"The Capo Song" is the best capo song, hate to break it to ya! (oh, noone's ever heard of the capo song? silly me! NATE!!!!!!!)

there's a really nice version of "In Your Eyes" that was covered acoustically by Jeffery Gaines, and you can find the tabs here, but i warn you, they aren't the easiest to pick up, because there's alot of syncopated rhythm. i also suggest listening to the song if you can find it. i was at a party where someone played it, and nearly everyone started singing along.
