windy1
John Mellankamp is currently touring. Sometime in June John Fogerty is set to join the tour. I would Love to see this. It's like 2 headliners for the price of one!!! It'll definately be a darn good show!!!
Addictedtoclassic
I wonder if it will be advertised as John Squared! I can't find any tour dates, but Fogerty is coming back to the US in November (currently booked). He's overseas this Spring. The Mellencamp site listed his maximum ticket price at $45. I really like it when old artists realize that they don't have to charge a fortune for their fans to listen to them live.
Addictedtoclassic
Windy is 100% correct! I have found the first posting for a concert with the two of them. John Mellencamp / John Fogerty Wed 07/13/05 Cincinnati, OH Riverbend Music Center Carole we'll meet up and rock the night away!!!
DJ Kat WQAQ98.1
Just add this to my list of concets that I want to go see this summer but probably won't have the dough to do so. Hrmmm time to make a list of priorities.
windy1
Anytime Aaron! See, told ya so!! :: You know that's going to be awfully good.
CanAm
I've seen Mellencamp live on two occasions (fantastic performer) but I've never had the privilege of seeing Fogerty perform, unless A&E's Live By Request counts. I'd give almost anything to see these two great musicians together on the same stage. There isn't a snowballs chance in hell that they'll come to Calgary, though. ::
bluesboy
So, what songs do you think they would choose to do if both were on stage together for a short set ? I think one would be - Fortunate Son
Harguitay
Oh, boy! Not one, but two millionaires 10 times over singing about how much they connect with the plight of the lower middle class. Does anyone know when tickets go on sale? I'll want to take a few days off work to be first to stand in line....
_jr_
Wow. Such cynicism from someone who lives in Christmas.
DJ Kat WQAQ98.1
So, what songs do you think they would choose to do if both were on stage together for a short set ? I think one would be - Fortunate Son Almost for sure they will do Jack and Diane. Mellencamp did it on CMT Crossroads with Kenny Chesney and it was out of this world. I'm sure it will be equally as good if not better with Fogerty.

windy1
these guys are going to some lengths to make sure this concert is available price wise to everyone. Tickets go on sale this Saturday for us in St Louis. Besides reasonable ticket prices, for the first week of sales there is no service fee for ticket sales at the box office. It was announced on the radio that Mellencamp is covering the service fees. Cool huh? ::
Lucky
I saw the concert tues. june 28. Fantastic. They had some unknown opening for 20 minutes, then Fogerty for his set, then a together set, then Mellencamp. Fogerty and Mellencamp did 3 songs together but all I can remember is Fortunate Son, and Travelin Band. They didn't do Jack and Diane together. Fogerty did Rock and Roll Girl and told all the guys to sit down, he wanted to see how many rock and roll Girls there were. Did I mention I won the backstage meet and greet tickets? I got my Cosmos Factory (original)album autographed by Fogerty, and got my cowboy hat signed by Mellencamp, plus a picture with him. I'll post it as soon as I am able. I have to say it was extremely COOL!!! CeeCee (alias Windy) And I am so glad we are back on!!!

bluesboy
That's hot Windy! I got to see ccr back in '69 or '70.
Lucky
Darn-Tootin it was/is HOT! Besides the "cool" music, it was only 95 degrees!! UMB is an outdoor pavillion. And you know what? Mellencamp was shorter than me! But a very nice man, as was Fogerty. He seemed kinda pleased that I still had the Cosmos Factory album. Know how I won the backstage passes? I had to answer the question.."What was Creedances original(and only i think)record label? Not too easy a question unless you had an original album. Fantasy Records was printed right smack in the middle top, on most of them anyhoo. I remembered this from 68!!! No google, and I was the second caller. Maybe I'm not losing my memory in my old age!! CanAm
I saw the John Fogerty/John Mellencamp concert last night and it was tremendous. Much to my surprise, Fogerty played very few of his solo creations but performed most of his CCR hits. He started out with Travelin' Band and ended with Band Moon Rising. For his encore he performed Centerfield and Proud Mary. The only solo material he performed other than Centerfield was The Old Man Down The Road and Deja Vu {All Over Again}. Fogerty joined Mellencamp on stage for two songs, Green River and Scarecrow. Fogerty's voice is better now, I think, than it was during his musical prime back in the 60's and 70's. Also, he is a much more accomplished and versatile guitarist now than he was with CCR and for a man of 60, he is still pretty limber. Mellencamp also played, primarily, his older hits like Jack and Diane and The Authority Song. He started with Small Town and ended with Cherry Bomb. Like Fogerty, he is an accomplished performer. His voice is still strong and true and by the end of his show, he had the audience in the palm of his hand. Both men had excellent back up bands. All in all, it was one of the best concerts I have ever attended. 9.5/
_jr_
I saw Mellencamp maybe ten years ago, and he was great. It was his "Whenever We Wanted" tour. Does he still have that woman who plays the fiddle? She was outstanding.
