Ombre Vivante
I don't let the personal side of musicians lives dictate whether or not I like or listen to their music. I won't stop loving John's music because he wasn't the greatest Dad or husband. I just can't get past those facts. I know that one should separate the art from the artist, and it's not as if I eliminated john's work from my collection. At the same time, the honesty of his message is gone. It's now boiled down to just liking the songs for what they sound like, not because I admire the ideas behind them.
TheLizard
Paul is cool, Lennon was a genius. Genius trumps cool.

CRAW
Just stumbled across this thread. McCartney was a far better musician in my opinion.
Super Ry 71
Yeah, I prefer McCartney solo more than Lennon solo, but John wrote some good songs...
MuzikTyme
Lennon or McCartney? What a hard question to answer. (I love it) It's kinda like asking if you prefer air to water. Both are great, as well as needed! How could either of them been as talented as they were without the profound influences of each? Hmmm?

TheLizard
I still stand by the assertion that the Beatles are not and would not have been THE Beatles without Ringo.
