Stabb
After long hiatus from the music biz, starting and raising a family, Yvonne is back and has new music out. How do I know? I'm her musical director and co-producer. It's a four song CD. With the proceeds we hope to record a full length CD. For those who might not have heard of her, Yvonne - Starred as Mary Magdalene in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (Broadway and movie). Was a backup singer for Eric Clapton in the '70s. Had a #1 hit 'If I Can't Have You' from the 'Saturday Night Fever' album. Along the way released 6 albums. Her website - www.yvonneelliman.com Thank you for the opportunity to post this! Aloha from Hawaii!

Aunt_Acid
I didn't know she did anything. I saw her in JCS.
_jr_
Other than JCS, Chris, she's best know for a song called "If I Can't Have You" from the dico era. It's a great song, BTW. Give it a listen.

pete38890
Didn't Yvonne Elliman do those awesome backgrounds for Floyd? Or am I collecting interest on that acid account I opened in 1973?

If you mean Pink Floyd - I've never heard her mention it. So I don't think so, but I'll ask. Or maybe you had good stuff? Aloha, Stabb
pete38890
Might be morphing this and that... Your gal did "Superstar" and put her face in the Coke commercial, the "I'd like to teach the world to sing" garbage....but I guess she wasn't the voice cher on DSotM.... Aunt_Acid
Cher never sang on DSoTM. The singers were Doris Troy, Barry St. John, Liza Strike, Lesley Duncan, and Clare Torry.
Stabb
I guess I don't have to ask Yvonne if she sang the Floyd stuff. What she did do was sing the lead beautifully in a live version of Blind Faith's 'Can't Find My Way Home' on the recently released reissue of Eric Clapton's 461 Ocean Blvd. (She was part of Eric's band then) Check it out... Foxy
I liked 'If I Can't Have You', but to be honest have never seen or heard her mentioned, other than that song...
