windy1
They are coming here in concert at one of the casinos. Probably seats 350 tops. That's a stretch. So it has the makings of a good concert, but are they still the original members? or is it like 1 guy and some unkwowns he picked up somewhere? It's May 15, and it will sell out fast(30 bucks), I'd like to go, but only if it's the originals. Anyone know? Aaron? Bluesboy?
bluesboy
imo, Marshall Tucker died after Tommy Caldwell died and Toy Caldwell left a couple of years later.

bluesboy
Talk about cobwebs, I recall seeing them headline and Charlie Daniels was the supporting act at the Greek Theater in LA around 1976 or '77.

Addictedtoclassic
Only one original member of the Marshall Tucker Band remains (Doug Gray). They're coming to Rochester, MN, but the venue is not the greatest. And yet, I really really want to see them because they now rank as # 2 on my favorite band listing. Here's the tour schedule. windy1
I always really loved them too. But I don't want to be disappointed. The Casino really has a pretty good concert hall, small but all the better. We get really good acts. Maybe I'll go and we can compare notes Aaron! I guess if it's bad I can always go out into the casino and lose money!!
Addictedtoclassic
It's really all about the music anyway and the fact that you're watching a legendary Southern Rock band play (even though they've had a lot of turn over).

Foxy
Can someone recommend some songs I can listen too by The Marshall Tucker Band?
bluesboy
I've always thought the Searchin' for a Rainbow album had great songs.
Addictedtoclassic
"The Marshall Tucker Band" album has a bunch of great songs on it. But if you just want a couple... "Can't You See" "Fly Like an Eagle" "Take the Highway" "Losing You" "Heard it in a Love Song" These are my favorites so far. But that's only because I'm still purchasing albums. Remember, Marshall Tucker Band is on the country-rock side of Southern Rock. But they are part of the "big three" which consist of The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Marshall Tucker Band. These are the 3 sides to Southern Rock, and man they have made some sweet a$$ music.
