Susiedoc
Hi all. I am trying to help a friend find a song that means a lot to his mother. It was appartently played at her wedding in '72. All she remembers is that it is about a man who is getting married and leaving his mother. Doesn't ring any bells for me. Anyone have any ideas? Ken
I'm willing to bet it was a Catholic ceremony. Wedding Song (There Is Love) ?1971 Public Domain Foundation He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts Rest assured this troubadour is acting on His part. The union of your spirits, here, has caused Him to remain For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name There is Love, there is Love. A man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home And they shall travel on to where the two shall be as one. As it was in the beginning is now and til the end Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again. And there is Love, there is Love. Well then what's to be the reason for becoming man and wife? Is it love that brings you here or love that brings you life? And if loving is the answer, then who's the giving for? Do you believe in something that you've never seen before? Oh there is Love, there is Love. Oh the marriage of your spirits here has caused Him to remain For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name There is Love, there is Love. Hope that helped. Jimmy1104
I believe The Wedding Song mentioned above was written by Paul Stookie of Peter, Paul and Mary fame.
sohr
I'm willing to bet it was a Catholic ceremony. Why would that be the case? As far as I know, the song isn't Catholic in any sense. In any case, it's a very beautiful and fitting song for a wedding.

The verses of this song are non-denominational.
