ryansgirl319
The movie Grace of My Heart is more or less a loose biography of Carole King and her days in the Brill Building as a song writer. In the film the main character, Denise, writes a song for a 60's girl singer (along the lines of Lesley Gore, etc.) The singer is a lesbian, hiding her affair with a woman. I want to know if any one knows if this is based in fact on a real singer, or just an "it could be true, but it's not" plot point.
Tenacious_Peaches
According to IMDB... "The role of the female bubble gum singer who was in the closet was inspired by Lesley Gore who actually helped compose some of the music in the movie." Wow, I did not know that.
