XXX
First and foremost, Bernard Herrmann's score for Taxi Driver. The whole thing because the theme is altered throughout different stages of Travis's slow spiraling into a psychotic criminal. He also did the score for Psycho and The Day The Earth Stood Still. The reason you hear strings in violent sequences is because of him; the reason you hear theremins during UFO sequences is because of him too. The man is genius. Only Ennio Morricone can top him, but this is by sheer output alone since Morricone didn't mind composing for low-budget movies with bad storylines. Herrmann would look at a script and immediately tell the director he wouldn't compose for a crappy movie.

miamisammy29
MUSICAL INTERLUDE: Old Habits Die Hard ~~ Mick Jagger "I thought I shook myself free You see I bounce back quicker than most But i'm half delirious, Is too mysterious You walk through my walls like a ghost And I take everyday at a time I'm as proud as a Lion in his Lair Now there's no denying it, a note to crying it Your all tangled up in my head Old habits die hard Old soldiers just fade away Old habits die hard Harder than November rain Old habits die hard Old soldiers just fade away Old habits die hard Hard enough to feel the pain We haven't spoken in months You see i've been counting the days I dream of such inanities, such insanities I'm lost like a kid in a maze But i've never taken your calls you see,I put block on my phone I act like an addict, i just got to have it I can never just leave it alone Old habits die hard Old soldiers just fade away Old habits die hard Harder than November rain Old habits die hard Old soldiers just fade away Old habits die hard Hard enough to feel the pain And I can't give you up Can't leave you alone And its so hard, so hard And hard enough to feel the pain Old habits die hard Old soldiers just fade away Old habits die hard Harder than November rain Old habits die hard Old soldiers just fade away Old habits die hard Hard enough to feel the pain"

bluesboy
The Sting ('73) - Scott Joplin's - The Entertainer Mash ('70) - Suicide is Painless The Great Escape ('63) movie theme + special mention of the opera in The Shawshank Redemption even though it's not really a theme song. "Duettino - Sull'aria" from opera "Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro)" Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart :: also, The Sandpiper ('65) - The Shadow of Your Smile and obviously - Misty... Play Misty for Me ('71) and Alice's Restaurant ('69) remember the Leonard Cohen soundtrack to McCabe & Mrs. Miller ('71) or the John Hammond, Jr. pickfest to Little Big Man ('70) and the Roots music yodeling in Raising Arizona ('87)

bluesboy
Annabelle, Wouldn't you agree that a rolling ten year period of music from 1963 - 73 would rank right up there.
