Sara
I'm not sure, could this be it? Your Love Keeps Liftin Me Higher - Bette Midler Mm, your love is lifting me higher than I ever been lifted before. Ooh, baby, keep it up, sweet baby. Quench my desire, and I'll be at your side forever more. 'Cause your love is liftin' me higher and higher. Your love keeps liftin' me, oh, higher, higher. Now once I was down-hearted, and disappointment was my closest friend. But then you came, and he soon departed. And you know I never seen, I haven't seen his face again! Your love is liftin' me higher, higher, higher, higher. Your love is liftin' me higher, higher, higher and higher. Your love keeps liftin' me, keeps on liftin' me. Your love keeps liftin' me higher, higher. Your love keeps liftin' me, keeps on liftin' me. Your love keeps liftin' me higher, higher. So glad I finally found you, babe. You're the best for these old arms. With those sweet, sweet lovin' arms around me, I tell you I don't need, I don't need, I-oh-I don't need no disguise, no! Your love is liftin' me, keeps on liftin' me. Your love keeps liftin' me higher, higher. Your love keeps liftin' me, keeps on liftin' me. Your love keeps liftin' me higher, higher. Your love is liftin' me, whoa, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher. Gettin' higher, gettin' higher, gettin' higher, gettin' higher. You lift me, you take me higher and higher. Higher, higher, higher, higher! Keeps on liftin' me. Keeps on liftin' me. Keeps on liftin' me. Keeps on liftin' me. Higher, higher, oh, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher and higher
Mike
I think Sara nailed it, but menamc did say "male" voice, so I wonder if you are thinking of the Higher And Higher version by Jackie Wilson (incidently it was Written by Carl Smith, Gary Jackson and Raynard Miner) This version is on the soundtrack for Disney's The Kid - 2000, one of my very favorite films, it's GREAT!! Costellogirl75
Rita Coolige had a hit with her version of this in the 70's, not Bette Midler.
menamc
Thanks everyone for your help...but that's not the song....I wish it was...This has been driving me crazy for DAYS Anyway, I'll post it another time worded another way.... "Till I get to your lovin arms, your lovin arms, your lovin arms, your sweet, sweet lovin arms..." (Repeat) It is a male singer, and there aren't that many instruments in the song...It is a very slow song. Someone said that the first lyrics of the song are: "Left her this morning and most of last night...." I don't know...I can't remember!!! Anyway, thanks again to those of you who posted me back. Anymore help from anyone else would be GREAT!!! menamc78@mindspring.com

MuzikTyme
I'm gonna take a long shot and guess C Note's song Wait Till I Get Home. If this isn't the song then maybe the lyrics will help you remember more. My gut tells me this isn't the one but I tried. Wait till I get home to that sweet, sweet lovin' Gonna get your love, gonna get it, just wait till I get home Wait till I get home to that sweet, sweet lovin' Your gonna get you love, gonna get it. Girl I want to shower you with my love, yeah baby just wait till I get home. Once I get you in my arms, you'll never get enough. I need your huggin' and your kissin', baby you are the one I've been missing. Ohh, When I get home I'm gonna do you good, treat you like a real man should. When I get home. Wait till I get home to that sweet, sweet lovin' Gonna get your love, gonna get it, just wait till I get home Wait till I get home to that sweet, sweet lovin' Your gonna get you love, gonna get it. (Bring it on home daddy) Anything you want baby I will do for you you you (anything you want baby) just wait till I get home. When it's time for makin' love We'll rock the whole night through All I want to do.(that's right) Baby, I need your love and affection, yeah Get things movin' in the right direction, Huh-oh. Six O'clock Time to make love. Nine O'clock take a lil breather, I just can't wait. Damn I can't wait to see her. When I get home. Wait till I get home to that sweet, sweet lovin' ooh baby. gonna get it, Soon as I get home. Wait till I get home to that sweet, sweet lovin' I give good love, gonna get it. Wait till I get home. menamc
Still not the right one!! But I really appreicate all of your feedback. It's a slow rock song, if that helps any. It was played on light rock stations in the early/late 90s. Male singer. Kinda like Bruce Springsteen. Again, thanks for your help!!

farrowlani
Left her this morning and most of last night I've been taking tally on the last years of my life. I've been pretty righteous, but God only knows A couple of calls were not even close But at least my own discresion is sweeter than most Ah those loving arms..... Those sweet, sweet, loving arms I count the "bird count the girl (sorry, I don't know what he's saying here)" I used to stumble back when I was younger And I'm still stumbling now it's a lot more fun And I'm falling, I'm falling Feel to close to the sun To get to your loving arms, your loving arms Your loving arms your sweet, sweet, loving arms To get to your chorus: loving arms, your loving arms Your loving arms your sweet, sweet, loving arms verse2 Empty pockets, motel beds Airline tickets worth better left unsaid Strange kisses (I don't know the next few words) What I'm missing were sure now known Everyday another mountain Another mountain to climb To get to your (chorus) Bridge: And the world could be perfect Even if we are not If everything is forgiven Even if not forgot And when the morning comes a breakin' And I call out your name My heart will be running Oh running to get to your (chorus and repeat) Artist: Darden Smith Album: Little Victories Year: 1993 I was searching for the same exact song for over a year and decided to look it up this past Tuesday on the computer @ Borders, and came across Darden Smith, so I went to iTunes to purchase the song, and yep, it was it! I hope this helps you a lot. -Jenai

farrowlani
I stand corrected. Here are the correct lyrics: Half of this morning and most of last night I've been taking tally on the last years of my life I've been pretty righteous, but God only knows A couple of calls were not even close At least my indiscretions were sweeter than most Oh, those loving arms those sweet, sweet, loving arms Count the bad, count the good And all I wouldn't change even if I could I used to stumble back when I was young And I'm still stumbling but now it's a lot more fun And I'm falling, I'm falling, I flew too close to the sun To get to your Chorus: Loving arms, your loving arms, your loving arms, your sweet, sweet loving arms To get to your loving arms, your loving arms, your loving arms, your sweet, sweet loving arms Empty pockets, motel beds Airline tickets, words better left unsaid Strange kisses get the ghost And what I miss is what she'll never know Everyday another mountain, another mountain to climb to get to your... (chorus) And the world could be perfect Even if we are not If everything is forgiven Even if not forgot And when the morning comes breaking And I call out your name My heart will be running, oh running to get to your (chorus, and repeat)
