"and just where is your car parked now?" miamisammy, obviously concerned for the safety of another Songfacts member's vehicle (who had just told us that he kept almost his entire CD collection in his car).

:jester:

I must respectfully disagree, 55. For me, the funniest one liner I ever saw in here was when there was a one post wonder complaining he didn't have any friends, and sammy said "Hey kid, I'll be your friend if you give me your lunch money every day."

I laughed about that for two days. Classic.

LOVE IT! I missed that one. He's a Funny Bugger alright.

How come there's no ladies on my list of Great Humorists on Songfacts ? They do well in the Quizzes ! Maybe they just don't appreciate our great senses of humor ??? I tell my Wife a joke that's really cracked me up and she doesn't laugh, so I say "don't you get it ?" and she replies "yes, but I don't think it's all that funny". (Maybe it's the way I tell it).

10 of my favourite singers of the '90's/'00's , no particular order:

Tom Chaplin (Keane)

Joakim Berg (Kent)

Jeff Buckley

Noel Gallagher (Oasis)

Fran Healy (Travis)

India Arie

Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand)

Liam Gallagher (Oasis)

Adam Levine (Maroon 5)

Damon Albarn (Blur)

Top 5 good covers

1. All Along The Watchtower-Hendrix

Even though I agree Hendrix's version is amazing and is superior to the original, I, oddly enough, still prefer Dylan's most of the time; there is just something about it...

5 of my favourite covers:

"I Shall Be Released" ? The Band

"One" - Johnny Cash

"Dear Prudence" ? Siouxie and the Banshees

"A Day in the Life" - Jeff Beck

"Little Wing" ? Stevie Ray Vaughan

Have you read all of Peaches' posts? She may not do a lot of one-liners, but she's one funny lady

Yes, You're right Jenny. I do recall some good quips by her!

Anyone who'd combine Jack Black and that grrrl Peaches for their username must have a sense of humor.

Thanks, Jenny, you ain't so bad yourself. ::

Jenny seems like such a nice, sincere person that when she breaks loose, it's even funnier than a trained monkey like me who is just desperate to make people laugh.

But I am nothing compared to Sammy...he makes me laugh out loud constantly. He is certifiably certifiable and brings out the true vulgarian in me.

:afro: :afro: :afro:

And then there is Diggs. He is the king of sophisticated sleaze (he loves it when I call him sleazy!). You don't realize the magnitude of his filth because he words it in such a literate way. ::

Don't even get me started on Edna...that woman kills me.

Actually, all of you lunatics are pretty funny. Somebody should compile all of our madness into a book...it would be a best-seller.

I couldn´t select a hundred fave Beatles songs... all of them are magic. I don´t like "All together now" or "yellow Submarine", but I love the rest ("Rev.#9" is not considered as a song)

As for the Rolling Stones... wow, that would be hard... I´m not really interested in what they did after "Tatto you" though I still love them above the rest...

i just found that on ipod and itunes it can show my most played songs. many of them surprised me because they're not neccessarily my favorites, but they're all great songs. Anyhow, here they are:

1. "Lola" The Kinks

2. "Rocky Raccoon" The Beatles

3. "Space Oddity" David Bowie

4. "Sympathy For The Devil" Rolling Stones

5. "Wish You Were Here" Pink Floyd

6. "Happiness is a Warm Gun" The Beatles

7. "Time Has Come Today" The Chambers Brothers

8. "Stairway to Heaven" Led Zeppelin

9. "Ramble On" Led Zeppelin

10. "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" Blue Oyster Cult

11. "Tangled Up In Blue" Bob Dylan

12. "Castles Made of Sand" Jimi Hendrix

13. "Carry That Weight/The End/Her Majesty" The Beatles

14. "Join Together" The Who

15. "A Well Respected Man" The Kinks

16. "Walk on the Wild Side" Lou Reed

17. "Helter Skelter" The Beatles

18. "L.A. Woman" The Doors

19. "Waterloo Sunset" The Kinks

20. "Rebel Rebel" David Bowie

it's strange, but many of the songs that i love the most, ("kashmir" "imagine" "baba o'riley") aren't even in my top 20 listened to. this is probably biased though based on cd's i've got recently, (best of bowie, the white album, the kinks ultimate collection) and its only based on since around january.

BLINDED BY THE LIGHT!

10 ACTS THAT ROLLING STONE BELIEVE CAN DO NO WRONG!

1. Phil Spector (Producer)

2. Bob Dylan

3. Brian Wilson

4. Sly And The Family Stone

5. The Clash

This DOESN'T mean I don't like the above ! I just think they could have recorded ANYTHING and it would have been included.

ALSO, there's only ONE Instrumental? A fine one, "Green Onions"/ Booker T. and the M.G.s, but how about "Sleepwalk"/ Santo & Johnny - almost every good guitarist has a version of that on one of their albums.

And all the great Surfing Songs of the 60s, EG the legendary "Pipeline"/ The Chantays.
