Songs about school

Does anyone know any songs about hating/disliking school and all those things. Gonna give an example:

Alice cooper - schools out

Well we got no choice

All the girls and boys

Makin all that noise

'Cause they found new toys

Well we can't salute ya

Can't find a flag

If that don't suit ya

That's a drag

School's out for summer

School's out forever

School's been blown to pieces

No more pencils

No more books

No more teacher's dirty looks

Well we got no class

And we got no principles (principals)

And we got no innocence

We can't even think of a word that rhymes

School's out for summer

School's out forever

My school's been blown to pieces

No more pencils

No more books

No more teacher's dirty looks

Out for summer

Out 'til fall

We might not come back at all

School's out forever

School's out for summer

School's out with fever

School's out completely

Also songs about "breaking the rules" ya know rebelious songs...are welcome. Oh oh oh and songs about freedom... (hehehe I know I ask much) I hope there isn't a topic about this all already :o

School Day

(Chuck Berry)

Up in the mornin' and out to school

The teacher is teachin' the Golden Rule

American history and practical math

You studyin' hard and hopin' to pass

Workin' your fingers right down to the bone

And the guy behind you won't leave you alone

Ring, ring goes the bell

The cook in the lunch room's ready to sell

You're lucky if you can find a seat

You're fortunate if you have time to eat

Back in the classroom, open your books

Keep up the teacher don't know how mean she looks

Soon as three o'clock rolls around

You finally lay your burden down

Close up your books, get out of your seat

Down the halls and into the street

Up to the corner and 'round the bend

Right to the juke joint, you go in

Drop the coin right into the slot

You're gotta hear somethin' that's really hot

With the one you love, you're makin' romance

All day long you been wantin' to dance,

Feeling the music from head to toe

Round and round and round we go

Hail, hail rock and roll

Deliver me from the days of old

Long live rock and roll

The beat of the drums, loud and bold

Rock, rock, rock and roll

The feelin' is there, body and soul.

two songs that spring to mind which mention school but aren't necessarily about it:

mad world - tears for fears (i love the gary jules version)

went to school and i was very nervous

no-one knew me, no-one knew me

hello teacher, tell me what's my lesson

look right through me, look right through me

getting better - the beatles

I used to get mad at my school

The teachers who taught me weren?t cool

Holding me down, turning me round

Filling me up with your rules.

...a couple of my favorites ....

Supertramp - School

I can see you in the morning when you go to school

Don?t forget your books, you know you?ve got to learn the golden rule,

Teacher tells you stop your play and get on with your work

And be like johnnie - too-good, well don?t you know he never shirks

- he?s coming along!

After school is over you?re playing in the park

Don?t be out too late, don?t let it get too dark

They tell you not to hang around and learn what life?s about

And grow up just like them - won?t you let it work it out

- and you?re full of doubt

Don?t do this and don?t do that

What are they trying to do?

- make a good boy of you

Do they know where it?s at?

Don?t criticise, they?re old and wise

Do as they tell you to

Don?t want the devil to

Come out and put your eyes

Maybe I?m mistaken expecting you to fight

Or maybe I?m just crazy, I don?t know wrong from right

But while I am still living, I?ve just got this to say

It?s always up to you if you want to be that

Want to see that

Want to see that way

- you?re coming along!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Men At Work - Be Good Johnny
Skip de skip, up the road
Off to school we go
"Don't you be a bad boy Johnny.
Don't you slip up, or play the fool."
"Oh no Ma, Oh no Da,
I'll be your golden boy,
I will obey ev'ry golden rule."
Get told by the teacher
Not to day-dream
Told by my mother:
Be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good, be good, (Johnny)
Be good, be good,
Be good, be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good be good be good
Be good (Johnny)
Be good be good.
"Are you going to play football this year, John?"
"No!"
"Oh, well you must be going to play
cricket this year then, are you Johnny?"
"No! no! no!"
"Boy, you sure are a funny kid, Johnny, but I like you!
So tell me, what kind of a boy are you, John?"
I only like dreaming
All the day long
Where no one is screaming
Be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good, be good, (Johnny)
Be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
Be good, be good, be good,
be good, be good, be good,
be good, be good, be good,
be good, be good, be good,
Johnny!
What about 'Another Brick In The Wall' by Pink Floyd?
We don't need no education.
We don't need no thought control.
No dark sarcasm in the classroom.
Teacher, leave those kids alone.
Hey, Teacher, leave those kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
AND 'Rock n' Roll High School' by The Ramones:
Well I don?t care about history.
(Rock, rock, rock?n?roll high school)
?cause that?s not where I wanna be
(Rock, rock, rock?n?roll high school)
I just wanna have some kicks.
I just wanna get some chicks.
Rock, rock, rock, rock, rock?n?roll high school
Well the girls out there knock me out, you know.
(Rock, rock, rock?n?roll high school)
Cruisin? around in my GTO
(Rock, rock, rock?n?roll high school)
I hate the teachers and the principal.
Don?t wanna be taught to be no fool.
Rock, rock, rock, rock, rock?n?roll high school
Fun fun rock?n?roll highschool.
Fun fun, oh baby.
Last one...Kooks by Bowie.
"And if you ever have to go to school
Remember how they messed up this old fool
don't pick fights with the bullies or the cads
cause I'm not much cop at punching other peoples Dads
And if the homework brings you down
Then we'll through it on the fire and take the car downtown"
The is part of the song that David dedicated to his son Zowie. :stars:
From the Beatles (Getting Better):
I used to get mad at my school
The teachers who taught me weren't cool
You're holding me down, turning me round
Filling me up with your rules
I've got to admit it's getting better
A little better all the time
I have to admit it's getting better
It's getting better since you've been mine
And "the skies are not cloudy all day" for the Beach Boys (Be True To Your School):
When some loud braggart tries to put me down
And says his school is great
I tell him right away
Now what?s the matter buddy
Ain?t you heard of my school
It?s number one in the state
I got a letterman?s sweater
With a letter in front
I got for football and track
I?m proud to wear it now
When I cruise around
The other parts of the town
I got a decal in back
On Friday we?ll be jacked up on the football game
And I?ll be ready to fight
We?re gonna smash ?em now
My girl will be working on her pom-poms now
And she?ll be yelling tonight
So be true to your school now
Just like you would to your girl or guy
Be true to your school now
And let your colors fly
Be true to your school
Rah rah rah be true to your school
Rah rah rah be true to your school
Rah rah rah be true to your school
Rah rah rah be true to your school
no one mentioned this one yet? 'school' by nirvana. Won't you believe it/ just my luck/ no recess/ you're in high school again. and thats the whol song.
'Don't stand so close to me' by the police involves school too though not in a hating disliking way. just a school girl having a crush on her teacher and what the teacher has to go through
and rhcp in one of their bored moods had 'catholic school girls rule' but once again its not so much about school as about the girl with eyes like marilyn monroe
There you´re right, BrokenVamp... I tried to search for you these lyrics and I couldn´t... Maybe you can write them from the record...
