Batman
This may have allready been done, but in this thread, tell what songs you think have very cheesey lyrics. My vote goes to "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy. While it is a good song, they have very cheesy lyrics such as "Friday night we'll be dressed to kill! Down by Dino's Bar and Grill." or "haven't changed don't got much to say, but man them cats are crazy."
SoulGirl
really? you choose that song? i wouldn't decribe those lyrics as cheesy at all - as far as i'm concerned one of the best things about thin lizzy, was phil lynott's posturing and bad-guy lyrics! my vote definitely goes to desiree 'life', these are the worst lyrics i've ever heard, so cheesy! I'm afraid of the dark 'specially when I'm in a park And there no one else around, Oh I get the shivers. I don't want to see a ghost, It's the sign that I fear most I'd rather have a piece of toast and Watch the evening news. Chorus: Life, oh life, oh life doo, Doot doot dooo. Life, oh life, oh life, Oh life doo doot doo. I'm a superstitious girl I'm tha worst in the world Never walk under the ladders, I keep A rabbit's tail. I'll take you up on the dare, Anytime, anywhere; Name the place, I'll be there, bungee jumping, I don't care! Chorus So after all said and done I know I'm not the only one Life indeed can be fun, If you really want to. Sometimes living out your dreams, Ain't as easy as it seems You wanna fly around the world, In a beautiful balloon. Chorus (x2) Doo doot doo doot. Repeat Oh, life, oh life. Repeat. It's a great song, I just think that they are a little cheesy. That's not a bad thing though. The lyrics aren't bad, just a little cheesy.

And how can you say Living On A Prayer is cheesy? That's such a good Bon Jovi song that I just want to scream it out at work until the entire office starts singing it with me!!! Tenacious_Peaches
This is the third time I have mentioned this song as the worst songwriting in history... This is one of my first posts - I just cut and pasted the whole thing because I still believe this is the most horrible song ever... I have always thought that "Butterfly" by Mariah Carey was one of the most terrible songs ever. The lyrics sound as if a 12 year old girl wrote them, and her "sexy" breathy voice sounds like someone is stepping on her tail. Even the video is bad...chock full of SUBTLE imagery. Check out the lyrics...how trite. Please excuse me, I have to regurgitate my lunch. When you love someone so deeply They become your life It's easy to succumb to overwhelming fears inside Blindly I imaged I could Keep you under glass Now I understand to hold you I must open my hands And watch you rise [Chorus:] Spread your wings and prepare to fly For you have become a butterfly Fly abandonedly into the sun If you should return to me We truly were meant to be So spread your wings and fly Butterfly I have learned that beauty Has to flourish in the light Wild horses run unbridled Or their spirit dies You have given me the courage To be all that I can And truly feel your heart will Lead you back to me when you're Ready to land [Chorus] I can't pretend these tears Aren't overflowing steadily I can't prevent this hurt from Almost overtaking me But I will stand and say goodbye For you'll never be mine Until you know the way it feels to fly [Chorus] So flutter through the sky Butterfly Spread your wings and fly Butterfly
