First, bazooka - sorry if I jumped down your throat yesterday. Kevin says you're a good guy and were probably joking with me! Tense Times on the Site at present, I think.

A-Connie Francis.

C-All had songs with "Puppet" in them.

WELL THERE GOES TWO OF THEM! :coolio:CONGRATULATIONS UNCLE! :) :)

A. Connie Francis was by far the biggest selling female Pop artist in the U.S. from the late 50s to (at least) the mid 60s, before Aretha Franklin hit big.

She recorded in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Hebrew and Hawaiin. :)

C. Elvis Presley - Puppet On A String (1965)

Sandie Shaw - Puppet On A String (1967) DIFFERENT SONG TO ABOVE. Was #1 in the U.K. for 3 weeks and won that year's Eurovision Song Contest.

5th Dimension - Puppet Man (1970). If you want to see me do my thing, Baby pull my string.

Some very sound guesses there BUT.... Let's recap:

QUESTION B

Who was the first Artist to sell more than 1 million copies of an Album in its first week of release? Clue: It's NOT a Group and it's within the last 25 years or less.

Also we've eliminated:

Elton John

Stevie Wonder

Prince

Michael Jackson

Perry Como (that was before the clues)

The Eagles, Crosby,Stills,Nash & Young, Backsteet Boys (Groups)

I'll bet Elvish could google this. Has anyone heard how she's going? I think her baby is due 22nd?? :)

..........................................................

QUESTION A

I did a survey once of 1970s Songs (singles) that were ALL #1 in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.

This didn't count "Billy Don't Be A Hero" because different versions went to #1 (U.S. Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods; UK and Aus Paper Lace.)

Surprisingly, there were only 11 for the whole decade , with one Artist/Group scoring with TWO #1s. WHO do you think it was?
