edna
Moma Orbison/Melson/Rush Mama, just had to call, oh, Mama Your baby boy just had his heart Broken in two, she said we're through But to send her best to you. Oh, Mama, I'd like to run to you, Mama. I'd come home today, leave right away, But things won't work that way Gotta stay, be a man, If I can, Mama. No, Mom, I don't know. I called her tonight. No, not at home. Yeah, you're probably right. Yes, I'll take care of myself. No, I'll be alright. I'll go to bed early tonight. Oh, Mama, tell Dad I think of him, Mama. How's Uncle Joe, my puppy, Coco, Tell them hello, oh, better go But gosh, I loved her so. Umm, Mama, don't worry so much, darling Mama. Now, Mama don't cry, just say goodbye, Can't have us both in tears, oh, Mom, you know me. Yes, I'll always be your baby through all the years. That´s Roy Orbison´s song... I wonder what it may have in common with "She loves you", "I wanna hold your hand" or "In my Room"... In My Room (Beach Boys) There?s a world where I can go and tell my secrets to In my room, in my room In this world I lock out all my worries and my fears In my room, in my room Do my dreaming and my scheming Lie awake and pray Do my crying and my sighing Laugh at yesterday Now it?s dark and I?m alone But I won?t be afraid In my room, in my room In my room, in my room In my room, in my room I guess we all know the others by heart, so here is my humble contribution to the game... They´re not all love songs, two of them have "yesterday" but maybe it´s they all talk about love No, the Beach Boys one doesn´t... gnnnnnkkhh! OLD 55
QUESTION A (STILL GOING) What do these Artists, with these specifically chosen songs, ALL have in common ? Mama/ Roy Orbison She Loves You and I Want To Hold Your Hand/ The Beatles In My Room/ The Beach Boys I've dropped LOTS of hints. Also I've found it in lots of sites by googling. (Of course I know what to google for, sure). :: QUESTION B This was a Monster Instrumental Hit in the 1970s. Is that all you're going to put? Yes. But what was it and who played it? aah, they'll know. :sleepy: :sleepy:

edna
I´d say "Europa" by Santana... as "Green Onions" (Booker T & the MG´s) is from the sixties... I can´t find out the answer to the other question...
Jenny
Okay, I posted the wrong answer in Common links, as someone already guessed it and it was wrong, so here's another guess: They all have words that are drawn out....like in "She Loves You" the second line sung is "I saw her yesterda-a-ay" and in "In My Room" the word "room" is really long. I've never heard the song "Mama" , so I'm guessing the same applies???

OLD 55
WELCOME BACK, 55!!! Thanks Elvish. I hope you and your little darling are both doing well ! QUESTION A You've got to feel sorry for Kevin - he almost got it. 2 Points to you my friend. But the BIG 5 points goes to Elvish!!! "My guess is that they all recorded in another language, namely German ". :coolio:CONGRATULATIONS ELVISH! That one took some answering. I have the 2 Beatles songs on Past Masters Volume One: "Sie Liebt Dich" and "Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand", and the Roy Orbison "Mama" in German on an 3 CD Anthology. I only read recently that the Beach Boys also recorded "Ganz Allein"/In My Room" in German. :: QUESTION B The answer to your question B is: "Frankenstein" - Edgar Winter Group. :coolio:CONGRATULATIONS BRAD ! As Uncle said, you "have a good read on me". Some of you must have thought I was a hard beggar to ask for "an instrumental", BUT as Brad picked it, I asked for a "MONSTER Instrumental". 5 Big Points to you. ........................................................... THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN BOTH QUESTIONS. I'll be back soon to update the points and post a new question.
