Kevin19
What are some songs that bands wrote about their own journey to fame, like "Creeque Alley" by the Mamas and the Papas or "Have a Cigar" by Pink Floyd?

RonJonSurfer
Side One of "the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars" takes you on the journey from beginning to end of a rock band. I think the single defining song is in fact, "Ziggy Stardust". Ziggy Stardust -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ziggy played guitar Jamming good with Weird and Gilly And the Spiders From Mars He played it left hand But made it too far Became the special man Then we were Ziggy's band Ziggy really sang Screwed up eyes and screwed down hair-doo Like some cat from Japan He could lick 'em by smiling He could leave them to hang Came on so loaded man Well hung and snow-white tan So where were the Spiders While the flies tried to break our balls Just the beer light to guide us So we bitch about his fans and should we crush his sweet hands Ziggy played for time Jiving us that we were voodoo But the kids were just crass He was the nazz, with God-given ass He took it all too far But boy, could he play guitar Making love with his ego Ziggy sucked up into his mind Like a leper messiah When the kids had killed the man I had to break up the band Now Ziggy played guitar :guitar:
Batman
Are you asking for the band's ceremony song or a song about their life before making it big ? That must be in reply to the "We are the champions" post. While the chorus would make you think it's ceremonious, the verse after the first chorus really sounds alot like a rise to fame: I've taken my bows, and my curtain calls youve given me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it. I thank you all but it's been no bed of roses no pleasure cruise it's been a challenge before all the human race and I ain't gonna lose
