Garden State

Has anybody else seen this? I rented it yesterday and I thought it was very good, I found the style very similar to that of 'Eternal Sunshine', but it was also quite unique, it made it so that as Zach Braff's character became less detached from society, the movie seemed less detached, it was brilliant, because at the beginning of the movie everything is very disjointed, and offsetting.... and distant, but as the character progresses..... the movie slowly starts pulling together.

Scott failed to mention the fetching Natalie Portman, who was really good as a girl who can't stop lying, except when she's telling the truth (kind of like Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club).

This is a terrific movie with great dialogue.

You're absolutely right about Garden State. The disjointed beginning and the progression really worked well. A great start for Zach Braff, I hope he does more. I'm glad you mentioned Eternal Sunshine, because I loved that movie. The way it depicts the mind is really cool.

You know what though? As good as the movie was, and as thought provoking as most of the dialogue was, there was one line that really stuck out to me, this one line that reached the point of immortality

"By the way, it says 'balls' on your face'

This movie was so random and hilarious. My favorite part is when they are at his friend's mansion and he shoots a flaming arrow into the air.

I just saw it, and I thought it was hilarious. I liked how Zach Braff portrayed a guy who was on anti-deppressants at the beginning, stopped taking them, and slowly became normal.
