jman14141414 Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Not sure if anyone knows about classical but I guess it's worth a shot... What is the meaning(if it does have a meaning)of the 2nd movement of Beethoven's 7th symphony?
bluesboy Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Hey jman, you've probably already seen this article.
RonJonSurfer Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I don't know too much about Beethoven, but I know I like ELO's version of Roll Over Beethoven. Somewhere in the mid 70's, there was a New York radio station that was changing formats from classical to classic rock. It caused quite a furor with the classical crowd. The station announced the exact time of the change over. At 3:00 pm they would stop playing classical and start rocking. So at 3 I'm listening and the first notes you here are the instrumental strains of Beethoven's 5th. (You all know it Da Da Da Daaaaaaa, da da da daaaaaaaa). Well it turns out it was just the intro to ELO's Roll Over Beethoven and when those first electric guitar chords busted in......well as a teenager it was great. (I still kind of like the concept).
