Batman
Once in questions and answers, I asked "What is Dark Side of The Moon about?" I didn't get an answer, so I thought maybe this was more of a discussion question. I can't figure it out. Is it about life? Death? The Moon? Danielj
It is about everything you meet in life. Breathing (Breathe) Money (Money) Time (Time) Colours (Any Colour You Like) Craziness (Brain Damage) Speaking (Speak To Me) Beautiful voices (The Great Gig In The Sky) Hurriedness or forgetfulness (On The Run) And then at the end Eclipse just sums up everything the album is about. Life and everything in it. All that you touch All that you see All that you taste All you feel. All that you love All that you hate All you distrust All you save. All that you give All that you deal All that you buy, Beg, borrow or steal. All you create All you destroy All that you do All that you say. All that you eat And everyone you meet All that you slight And everyone you fight. All that is now All that is gone All that?s to come There is no doubt in my mind that it is the greatest albumever released. The lyrics, cover music, every single note and noise on the album comes together to make it a masterpiece. It could not be improved. It is the epitome of Music. This is of course as always, my opinion.
_Jayson_
And everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon. Just that line has so much meaning. Another thing representing life is the heartbeats at the very beginning and end of this album.
MuzikTyme
It's certainly one of the greatest albums of all time. Daniel summed it up perfectly.
Danielj
Yeah, I never thought about that one Jayson. Life begins slowly getting stronger. Life ends, slowly getting weaker.
Mike
You guys *like* Dark side of the moon? You've got to be kidding!! Who is that anyway, The Osmonds or the Jackon five? It's about getting away from it all. It's about flowing with the universe not against it. It's a spiritual journey, Speak to me I want to really breathe then I'm On the Run against Time so I need to Breath (reprise) again and then look upwards to The great gig in the sky before counting the Money that has been made in the battles between Us and them to determine ultimately Any colour you like but what subsequently results in the discovery of Brain damage and finally the departure to the ultimate get away -- Eclipse on the dark side of the moon. It's so simple... maybe you need a refresher course! ::
Addictedtoclassic
What, no musical interlude to go along with that?
