are amazing. i've seen them twice in manhattan (south street seaport in july and joe's pub last friday) and it was awesome...

they toured with damien rice (but they have a different-ish sound) last year and might be doing so again, i'm not too sure. they're from ireland though, where they're huge and don't come to the u.s. too often but they'll be here next year to promote their new album "burn the maps" (released in ireland in september, not release in the u.s. yet) and to otherwise be incredible.

you can check them out on their website-- there are pictures, a message board, and mp3s that you can listen to on aol or with realplayer.

ahh. i love them. the frames

when you find something so good its hard to focus on whats right...

hi 'tomorrowstoolong',

welcome to songfacts! my name is gisela, i'm from ireland. i'm a big fan of the frames' music and have been lucky enough to play with them a few times. their line-up has changed alot over the years, to the extent that the band pretty much is glen hansard, who does his solo thing as well, but the standard of music certainly hasn't dropped. some of the lyrics and music are just divine. one of my favourite songs is 'what happens when the heart just stops' which glen dedicated to me at a gig once! other favourites are 'red chord', which is gorgeous, 'angel at my table' and actually well i love loads! we even have their deleted first album 'another love song' on original cd. i haven't heard the new album yet but have heard a few songs at an intimate gig in a local record store and they sounded good.

nice to meet you and have another frames fan on the site :)

welcome again!

p.s. hope i don't sound like a namedropper but there's no point pretending i don't know the boys i guess?!

psh that doesn't count as name dropping. if i were you i'd do it too. its enough that i got to semi-hang out with them on friday to keep me talking about it nonstop.

but burn the maps is pretty awesome, i'd have to say my favorite so far. i can't find fitzcarraldo or dance the devil or (obviously) another love song here, so all i have besides burn the maps is for the birds and set list, plus the roads outgrown which was like a random thing they released here. i'm trying to order it from the internet for christmas though.

oh and by the way my grandmother's family is from cork.
