AD
I have tried and tried to figure out which song this is -- it's by a band, in the eighties, male vocalist, the lyrics are "We're gonna rock, how bout you, don't you sit on your ass and don't you be no fool/we're gonna rock, how bout you, you don't need a class you dont' need no school." None of the music experts I've asked have a clue about this.
Danielj
It isnt Alice Cooper's schools out is it? Not those exact lyrics, but here are those lyrics. Well we got no choice All the girls and boys Makin all that noise 'Cause they found new toys Well we can't salute ya Can't find a flag If that don't suit ya That's a drag School's out for summer School's out forever School's been blown to pieces No more pencils No more books No more teacher's dirty looks Well we got no class And we got no principles And we got no innocence We can't even think of a word that rhymes School's out for summer School's out forever School's been blown to pieces No more pencils No more rule-books No more teacher's dirty looks Out for summer Out til fall We might not go back at all School's out forever School's out for summer School's out with fever School's out completely
AD
No, that's not it. I am very sure about the lyrics. And I know "Schools Out" - this isn't it.
Addictedtoclassic
It almost sounds like a Twisted Sister or Kiss song from the late 70's/early 80's.

flygirl
Yes, I remember this song!!! The lyrics are exactly like you remember them! Now it's driving me crazy!! I thought maybe Autograph or an obscure band like that. I'm pretty sure it was a one-hit/short lived band.
flygirl
OH MY GOD! I totally stumbled across this today! The song is We're Gonna Rock and it was by a hometown (Detroit) band called The Look. It's been bugging me since I read your post in Dec!

Carl
Sweet. We all know someone who is now working as an actuary or some other upstanding corporate profession who every now and then mentions his old band. This is that band.
