Written by George Harrison as a tribute to his friend Eric Clapton's chocolate addiction. Many of the lyrics come from the print on a box of Mackintosh's Good News Chocolates. All the names of the chocolates used in the song (except for cherry cream and coconut fudge) are authentic.

EA , I wouldn't mind in the least if this thread was put in the game section . However , when devising it , I thought it was a simple opportunity to accumulate music facts/ trivia / opinions etc. about particular songs, and though I used the word 'game' in the title ... I don't think it has any game-ish qualities .

Sure thing Kevin, it was just a shame it slipped back a couple of pages - it's a good thread!

I don't know that song by T-rex, I've just started listening to them after reading one of Katie's "What song are you listening to now?" posts. So thank you Katie, T-rex are good, I really like what I've heard so far (Ballroom of Mars and Bang a gong)!

Hey Angel, get 'Cosmic Dancer' I am sure you will like it! T-Rex = greatness!!

If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next by The Manic Street Preachers was the first single released of their 'This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours Album' on the 24th August (my b/day :D ) 1998.

The song is about the Spanish Civil War and the idealism of the volunteers who joined the Internationalist Brigade to fight against Franco's fascist army.

New song: One by Metallica

Sue, the song you are thinking of is Jump In The Line (Shake Senora) by Harry Belafonte.

Shake, shake, shake Senora, shake your body line

Shake, shake, shake Senora, shake it all the time

Work, work, work Senora, work your body line

Work, work, work Senora, work it all the time

My girl's name is Senora. I tell you friends I adore her.

When she dances oh, brother,

she's a hurricane in all kinds of weather.

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

O-kay! I believe you. (3 times)

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Oh!

Shake, shake, shake...etc.

You can talk about cha-cha, tango, waltz or the rhumba.

Senora's dance has no title.

Jump in the saddle hold on to the bridle.

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

O-kay! I believe you.

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Rock your body, Child!

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Somebody help me!

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Oh!

Shake, shake, shake...etc.

Senora she's a sensation, the reason for aviation.

And fellas you've got to watch it.

When she wind up she bottom, she go like a rocket.

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

O-kay! I believe you.

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Hoist those skirts a little higher!

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Up the chimney!

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Oh!

Shake, shake, shake...etc.

Senora dances calypso. Left to right is the tempo.

And when she gets the sensation,

she go up in the air come down in slow motion.

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

O-kay! I believe you.

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Somebody help me!

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

O-kay! I believe you.

Jump in the line rock your body in time.

Oh!

Shake, shake, shake...etc.

Is that the song they used at the end of Beetlegeuse? I love that movie! It totally creeped me out when I first saw it (I was only little) but it's one of my very favourites now! :coolio:

Bedshaped ~ Keane

I dont know too much about Keane, but I do know my kids like them, and if EA likes them, the must be good...here's a little info on them:

Formed in 1997 while each were attending college, Keane initially started out

they started out as a cover band. They played Oasis, U2 and Beatles songs in and around Sussex with guitarist Dominic Scott

The major , and only hit (I think ) , for a group that seemed to disappear soon after . One of those early '80s tunes that rarely comes to mind, but still seems to find its way onto oldies radio play quite regularly . A catchy tune that I enjoy still today and is a good example of the New Wave 80's 'sound' , IMO .
