November 22...

1963: The Beatles release their second album With The Beatles which spent 51 weeks on the UK charts.

1965: Bob Dylan marries Sara Lowndes in New York. She filed for divorce on March 1st 1977.

1971: Isaac Hayes was at No.1 on the US singles chart with "Theme From Shaft". It made No.4 in the UK.

1981: Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood jam with blues giant Muddy Water (whose "Rollin' Stone" gave the Stones their name) and Buddy Guy at Chicago's Checker Board Lounge.

1979, Marianne Faithfull busted at Oslo Airport for marihuana posession.

1976- Jerry Lee Lewis arrested by police outside Graceland... He had a gun in his car. He wanted to see Elvis...

1964- Beatles record "I feel fine"/"She´s a woman".

Stones banned from BBc.

Nov. 22:

1963- JFKennedy is shot in Dallas

2004- Terry Melcher, producer and musician, dies at 62 from melanoma.

1960: Elvis Presley was at No.1 on the US charts with "Are You Lonesome Tonight".

1974: Elton John started an 11 week run at No.1 on the UK chart with his Greatest Hits , album. It also enjoyed a 10-week run as the US No.1.

1975: Queen started a nine week run at No.1 in the UK with "Bohemian Rhapsody". The promotional video that accompanied the song is generally acknowledged as being the first pop video and only cost £5,000 to produce.

1983: Tom Evans from Badfinger committed suicide.

1889 - The first jukebox was placed in service in the Palais Royal Saloon in San Francisco, California. Juke, at the time, was a slang word for a a disorderly house, or house of ill repute.

1968 - Rolling Stone reports San Francisco's Family Dog has lost its license to operate out of the Avalon Ballroom, site of the marathon dance concerts featuring the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Moby Grape, Quicksilver Messenger Service and other psychedelic groups.

1989 - Paul McCartney began his first North American tour in 13 years, playing the first of five gigs in Inglewood, California.

1992 - Country singer Roy Acuff dies at 89. In 1962, he was the first living artist to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

1972 - ABC-TV debuted "In Concert."

1985 - Singer Big Joe Turner died of a heart attack.

1991 - Eric Carr (Kiss) died of cancer at 41. Carr had joined Kiss in 1982 when founding drummer, Peter Criss, left the group.

1991 - Freddie Mercury of Queen died of AIDS complications at the age of 45.

1991 - Cyndi Lauper and David Thornton were married.

1994 - Prince performed "Peach" on the European MTV Awards. He claimed the song was a "cover tune by a good friend."

1966: The Beatles begin recording sessions for the "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" LP, laying tracks for "Strawberry Fields Forever" --- the track, however, doesn't make the album.

1973: Ringo Starr went to No.1 on the US singles chart with "Photograph". His first of two US chart toppers as a solo artist.

1983: Irish group The Undertones split up. Lead singer Feargal Sharkey went on to have a No.1 UK single as a solo artist with "A Good Heart" and later worked in A&R for various record labels.

1993: US blues guitarist Albert Collins died aged 61.

1999, at a Bonhams of London rock auction, Buddy Holly's first driving license sold for £3,795; a copy of The Beatles 'White Album' numbered 00000001, sold for £9,775.

1957 - Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps appeared on Ed Sullivan for their first national TV appearance.

1961 - The Everly Brothers were inducted into the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

1966 - The Jimi Hendrix Experience made its London performance debut at the Bag O' Nails Club.

1984 - Several British and American stars got together as Band-Aid, and recorded "Do They Know It's Christmas". The project was planned by Bob Geldof. The proceeds of the record went to Ethiopian famine relief.

1985 - Bobby Brown announced that he was leaving New Edition for a solo career.

1997 - The original lineup of the Zombies played onstage for the first time in 30 years.

1997 - Garth Brooks' seventh album "Sevens" was released.

1997 - The sixth album of 2Pac, "R U Still Down? (Remember Me)," was released posthumously.

1998 - Spin magazine editor Craig Marks told police that Marilyn Manson's bodyguards pinned him against a wall and hauled him up into the air. Marks claimed that he was invited backstage to talk with Manson after a performance at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Manson allegedly threatened Marks with "`You know I can kill you, your family and everyone you know'."

1956 - Big band leader and trombone soloist Tommy Dorsey died.

1962 - The Beatles recorded "Please Please Me."

1968 - Cream gave its last concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It was recorded and released as "Goodbye Cream" February 20, 1969.

1973 - The New York Dolls played their first show (in a London restaurant.)

1973 - 10cc broke up.

1982 - Miles Davis and Cicely Tyson were married. It was his third marriage.

1999 - 98 Degrees performed several songs and sold some exclusive band merchandise on the Home Shopping Network.

2004 - jrownsdega, regular songfacts poster and all-round good guy demands music news for this day in history - the day we all forgot!

1938: Tina Turner is born.

1945: John McVie bass player with Fleetwood Mac is born.

1971: Tickets are so in demand for the Faces' Madison Square Garden performance that the group breaks Led Zeppelin's sellout record for the New York area.

1983: Quiet Riot went to No.1 on the US album chart with Metal Health.
