Kevin
I' ve always wondered about Joe Cocker's manic facial and body movements while he is singing. Anyone know or have some input? Are they simply to help bring out his great sound or is there something else ? ::

Kevin
Thanks for your feedback, ladies. No, honestly, do you think that is the case ? After songs I've watched him carefully and he dosen't display any of the aforementioned symptoms...what's going on ? ::
Uncle Joe
Kevin, I'm sorry that Amy and edna weren't more helpful (nya nya)...LOL I remember reading that his contortions were nerve/performance anxiety related. Since the contortions became sort of a trademark he decided to do nothing to stop them. Fiction or fact? Not sure.
Kevin
Thanks, unclejoe. Seems a reasonable enough answer--though edna's answer may be part of it as well . It's just always been a kind of 'elephant-in the -livingroom' thing for me as everyone notices it, I've seen it parodied, but just never heard an explanation before. edna
Oh, maybe he´s got "Tourette syndrom"... it´s like twitching all the time... but I don´t think so, I saw him in a press conference and he looked very normal...
Uncle Joe
The contortions only occurred while he was performing. Never during conversations, interviews, etc. Belushi was hilarious...even Cocker enjoyed him.
edna
The contortions only occurred while he was performing. Never during conversations, interviews, etc. Belushi was hilarious...even Cocker enjoyed him. I know, UncleJoe, I was joking... though Joe Cocker´s problems with drugs and alcohol are even on the encyclopaedias, I think it´s just his style... by the way, I think he never wrote a song, he did only covers.
